Match referees and test umpires need to demonstrate control by punishing those who abuse/sledge. The best umpires- David Shepard and S.Venkataraghavan did nothing when Mike Slater (Mumbai-Feb 2001)and Glen McGrath/Ramnaresh Sarwan( Windies-March 2003) went on a sledging and abusing spree.
The Aussies have always practised and popularised the so called "Art" of sledging. When someone gives them back the hate it(Shasri, Ganguly, Sarwan). To them only when a bolwer sledges he is a "Fast" bowler. Iam sorry for the Holdings, the Walsh's, the Marshall's, the Robert's as they do not qualify to be a "Fast" bowler as they never sledge. This debate of which team is gr8 is going on for a long time. Now in this true "Gentleman's" game, tell me who is great, the Aussies or the Windies???
T he little master was right on target regarding the sledging of the Australians.It can be a deterrent for young prodigies who watch these champions and try to emulate them even in verbal abuse. I think this has to be taken seriously.
I fail to understand one thing, why does the world always have to go picking up on the Aussies. Just because they r the best team in the world or because they spectacularly beat india in the world cup final?!!!
I agree they sledge, but then which team doesn't? Don't tell me that when Nasser Hussain called Graeme Smith Greg it wasn't sledging or when he referred him to as What's his name Smith. what was that?

So if Aussies are "reducing cricket's reputation to mud" then other teams are also involved and there seems to be no other reason but envy to go and slam the Aussies.
Cricket has always been a WHITE MAN's game.Even the ICC is a racist organistaion where the rules framed by ICC are unclear and not biased towards WHITE cricketing nations.
If our Ganguly or for that matter any player from the sub continent is aggressive in the field, he is termed as a rash charector and is kept under watchful eyes of the Umpires and Referees.
We have time and again seen AUSSIE crciketers getting away after using abusive language at their rivals.
Cricketing stalwarts from sub continent like Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan and Zaheer Abbas should plead this more and more at various fora and force the ICC to be impartial hereafter.Else. Cricket world over will be played the "AUSSIE WAY"-Not for its competitiveness but for unwanted abuses.
