Ganguly alone should not be blamed for the defeats.

It's unfair to blame Ganguly alone for the defeats.
He failed with the bat but as a captain he did
nothing wrong. It was a miserable tour and
let's all forget it.Let's hope India will
show a good performance in the world cup.
All the Very Best for Ganguly and his men.

Strange things happen in life , now people are laughing at Ganguly for exiting through the back door but hundreds and thousands of them will be present on March 27th 2003 at the front door when Ganguly will arrive at the Mumbai airport with the world cup in hand .

is india really to be blamed..
by Sayonton Roy on Jan 18, 2003 11:33 PM

Yeah india has lost and india has lost badly..but the only question here is that, whether we should really blame all the players for that. we always shout that indian players cant play, the captain is always wrong, that thing should be done in that way. but have we ever thought of the strain the players are going through.. we sit on our couches with a pack of popcorn in our laps and a glass of coke or pepsi on one hand for relishing the battle..battle of cricket...but let me give u all the brief view of the schedules indian players had
tour of west indies- 5 tests + 4 odi s
tour of england- 4 tests + 7 odis (natwest trophy)
mini world cup - 4 odis
west indies tour of india-3 tests+5 odis
tour of newzealand-2 tests+7 odis

THE RESULTS
india has won more than 60 %(15) of their odis it has played. do u all think its bad.. the only where india got slaughtered was in new zealand..nowhere else..that too after having all the above tours in a span of 7 months.. dont u think india has done fairly well...
and everybody from our MR PREM PANICKER to everybody has a habit of screeching at gangulys fault. what kind of pedigree they have i doubt to comment on a player..any player leave alone ganguly..i think the media persons should take a leaf out of australians. where the last thing they do is to critcize the captain openly...
i think at this moment what indian players need is nothing but a dose of good rest and unbiased media support..i am sure it will grow a long way in lifting the spirits of indian players after this disastrous tour...

i think the indians shud be given a break an year in which india performed so well in both forms of cricket winning in england and we all know we won the icc trophy as well....but the media just doesnt seem to forgive one tour considering the amount of travelling and cricket the indian cricketers have been playing and not to mention the extra pressure from the icc the mess about the contracts all this in the sapce of an year c'mon give the guys a break they r human afterall i pity ganguly.i think he needs a desperate break he is an aggressive captain but he needs to cool off now n then focus on the world cup at leisure.........

Even the best fail at times... I think instead of blaming ganguly, let us let them think collectively what went wrong and return to a positive frame of mind for the world cup... if anything, recent football world cup is a testimony to the fact that everything is possible in a game!
Best of Luck India
