Kumble & Umpiring
by jignesh on Dec 29, 2003 01:46 PM

Kumble finally proved that he is still best spinner option for India. I haven't watched the match but the reviews and scoreboard says it all.

AND another thing as Gavaskar said thoousands times why in the world Umpires favor Aussies? Why their double-centurion or centurion or any good performance is always complimented by Umpire's grace? How in the world Pointing can even come closer to be the best batsman when each of his huge knnouck so far in the series involved Umpire's grace and a whole lot of luck? Rahul Dravid on other hand is the best batting on alien conditions and without luck or umpire's grace. Give that many lives to Dravid he will kill the opposition.

If Umpire's cannot dare to bear the sledging of Aussies and give them out, atleast do not give our Batsmen out, when they are not, just to compensate for previous out not given.

Whatever be the result of the test, I think Indian are victorious.

Nice report
by naveen on Dec 28, 2003 09:41 PM

I found the article quite well written. It didn't have unnecessary criticism of players and decisions, and has seen the brighter side, the side from which decisions look more logical, and hence reflect their actual purpose on the field. Though the result of the decisions could go either way after it's taken, at the time it was taken one only has limited information. It's like you can only choose one end of the stick.

Poor article
by Sanjeev on Dec 28, 2003 08:22 PM

The author of this article has to use proper language. Akash chopra was ruled out in a tough and close call. The article says he was not out, which will mislead the readers. The language should be professional and impartial. He could well have been not out, but it was a difficult decision and noone knows for sure. Please dont use wordings that can influence readers opinion.

Ponting's year
by Rajiv on Dec 28, 2003 05:07 PM

The day truly belonged to RT Ponting. He has always been India's tormentor-in-chief. As the year ends, I believe it will be a fit comment to say that India had to face a one-man army, Ponting, which sank this country's cricketing fortunes from the World Cup final on March 23 and TVS Cup final in October to December 28.
