Sachin - Ricky

The argument of performing under pressure. Lets see the amount of pressure sachin was in before this match and see how sachin came up with flying colors. If this is not pressure what is ?

I understand Sachin sometimes plays some rash shots and gets lost in the fantasy of Stroke making rather than putting the bad ones away. But those must be acceptable for the amount of consistancy this man has give us over the past 14 odd years of cricket he has played for the country.

I can single out a lot of under pressure games that sachin has been bright. If we remember the 98 series at Sharjah Sachin followed up his extreme performace in the tests with 2 centuires to take us into the Finals and win it for India.

Ricky ponting too has his bad times with playing a particular bowler (Harbajan) he came over it this time in his series to India. So when that kind of excuse is acceptable for a Ricky Pointing why not For Sachin..

Indian win over the aussie marks a great chapter in the history of world cricket,to beat a world champions in their own home ground, takes more than just a luck. Geig chappel is agreable with his points but i am sure after india posts a series win in austraila he would have no choice except to watch indian celebrations from comentators room!

I completly agree with Greg Chappell comment that one cannot become world champ just by winning one game, its the hard work & commitment by each player that put australia in the No. 1 Spot

this is great!

We all, well most of us anyway, know that one win doesnt make India the worldchapms. In fact, if we end up losing or even leveling the series, the swords will be out for Ganguly and his men. But what I do like is how Ganguly (whose capabilities as a test player are reasonably debatable) manages to get under the skin of Aussies and the rest of the cricketing world, and that too just by one comment. Its really great to get to these people, and for once, knowingly or unknowingly, the Captain of Indian team, is doing it very well :) I hope that we play well, and retain the Gavaskar-Border trophy. Good luck!

Greg Chapell has rightly expressed that 1 win does not make indian team world leaders in cricket. Consistency is the watch word. Look at the australian teams record for last eight years. India should not sit on the success of Adleide test and become complacent. They should also keep in mind that the Australian team will come at our team as wounded tiger. All the best for Indian team!

Fair & Square
by Madhan Krishnaswamy on Dec 25, 2003 06:22 AM

We beat the Aussies "Fair & Square"; All of India, Australia and Greg C was caught surprised, only that it was pleasant for the Indians.
Clearly the Green Caps are under pressure.
When Shewag & Sachin take Brett L by the scruff of his neck on boxing day, after all the recent hype of his return, it clearly means the Aussies are dethroned!!!
The red hanky will come of use at the end of the series for Steve W!

I think to some extent, Greg is right in saying that India is the one and only team that can give Aussies a run for their money and fight till the end. But, again he underestimates India's capability as saying that it cannot repeat its Adelaide's feat.
