Azhar was the best captain India ever had and ever will....Ofcourse Ganguly definitely comes next to him.Azhar won most matches than any other who captained India in the midst of "jackals" who always tried to disgrace Azhar on ont thing or the other...while Ganguly has eveyone on his stride....including me...
It is weird to compare wins under Azhar with Ganguly. While Ganguly has won more meaningful test wins abroad, Azhar has just one against Srilanka. How true is the adage "Statistics tell you only half story"
Congratulations Team India!!! Well done. Keep it up and give us the pleasure of series victory against Australia. Be prepared for the tough task ahead. Please donot repeat the series in West Indies and Zimbwabawe, All the Best.
I guess it would make sense if the wins by each captains is categorized by the location as well. It makes more sense then. I think winning a test abroad weighs much higher than a win in India (where the pitch is as I call it, agricultural land).
Time has come when people should give up comparing the likes of Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid against each other and the current Indian team against any other team from India. One must give up thinking what Ganguly is as compared to Tendulkar or what Tendulkar is as compared to Dravid. Easily, all three are the best batting bets in Team India, but what really matters is they way they chip in and put forth their strengths in tandem.
Atleast one of these three perform, and it is victory to team India. All have seen Sourav Ganguly in ODIs, Dravid in Tests and Tendulkar, of course, in both.
Kudos Ganguly, kudos team India, keep it up. Let all former cricketers and critics look at you in awe. Sourav and co., c'mon do it. Beat the most arrogant side Down Under. Ganguly is gonna better any captaincy record in India keeping his batting performance intact.
Excellent Captaincy, interactive sessions with his players on the field, absence of parochial attitude and being himself a great player of mammoth proportions has led to his stupendous record!
