Bread, Butter & Jam
by C.N.Shankar on Dec 16, 2003 03:18 PM

We all know Cricket is Bread and Butter to Rahul, Sachin etc. But for people like me it was the Jam on Top of the B & B provided by 'Jammy' that tasted so good in that Great Vicyory. Well Done Rahul. We are proud of you. Being a Chennai man I had to have a Set Top Box for seeing the Match and I had no regrets.

Writer should aplogize
by T. Roy Choudhury on Dec 16, 2003 03:07 PM

The writer of the column (Faisal Shariff) should APOLOGIZE clearly for writing a statement like "With the position Australia is in, there can be only one winner in this Test, and it is certainly not India." during his match report on the 1st day. Such irresponsible and immature comments are certainly NOT expected from a journalist writing for rediff.com!!!

excellent team work
by srinath on Dec 16, 2003 02:47 PM

it was an excellent team work from indians what a perfomance, aussies might be having a pinching nights till boxing day and this all b'cause of laxman and rahul. And india should keep up the fielding segment very active and i.e one of key factor for indian victory a superb catch by sehwag and dravid did the trick and parthiv should keep more concentrated and alert and he can t miss out stumping players of gilchrist caliber

Good win but........
by B.krishnamurthi on Dec 16, 2003 02:31 PM

No doubt the wall saved us. Now I am worried that Steve Waugh should not be blamed for lenient with Indians. I can hear from down under people crying that Steve , the half Indian due to his association with Udhyan.
Frankly, I am also feeling that an usual aggression in him is missing. Do u feel the same?

Good Luck to both Steve & Saurav for the rest of the series.

India's victory over Aussies
by shams on Dec 16, 2003 02:20 PM

It was an incredible win over the strong Aussies. After day one , i just prayed india to compete to their score. To my surpise, once again India has proved that the winning fire is there within them,
just a sparkle is needed to fire them up. I wish them all the best for the rest of the tour.

not surprising at all.
by manas on Dec 16, 2003 02:20 PM

it was not at all surprising , as india posted the historic win against the world champs.as the world cup semifinalists the indian team deserved more respect and adulation. the indain so called think tank was always found wanting in this regard.it is simply a fitting reply for them.
rahul dravid will never stop proving his credentials, and atleast it is expected that his critics will find enough reasons this time to do a bit of introspection.
"laggey raho india.
