The real culprits
by yasho on Dec 15, 2003 11:37 PM

The real culprits for our failure to reach the pinacle of success are neither the lack of talent nor the will or efforts. To really understand it, we shall analyze ourselves after any Indian performance in any field. In our culture modesty is the biggest virtue and second is to give respect to others. At the same time our culture has told us to redefine our heritage according to time, place and environment. If you dont do that then all our cultural gifts will lead us to wrong sides. That has happend to Indian sports also. We over-respect others and while doing so we undermine ours. We define our success as getting lucky or gods wishes. What happend to the KARM. Look at this article, heading says Lucky to pick 6. Read the modesty of Agarker in his statement. We forgot that our culture recommends "Shatham Sathey Samacharet". And that is the culprit of our all failures.

Congratulations to Ajit Agarkar for his lion-hearted performance !

Wiry Indian speedster Ajit Agarkar is maturing into a fine bowler and finally translating his enormous talents into productive results. 12 wickets from three completed innings against Australia in Australia is a wonderful feat for the youngman and Team India. From now on he can only improve and become an important part of a reasonably powerful firing squad that already has an inform Zaheer Khan, an experienced Anil Kumble and the highly talented Murali with the reliable and legendary Sachin Tendulkar known for his partnership breaking stuff. Well done Ajit and we look forward to watching exciting cricket from you and the rest. Our batting and bowling appears to be in safe hands.
