Why can't we be consistent?
by Amol Agarwal on Dec 13, 2003 03:38 PM

Auusies seems to have taken a fancy to the six sigma concept which means just 3 defects in a million produced units.Aussies seem to be folowing it in playing cricket. Just loook at the consistency.

We have to learn something from them. It is only one of the days when Aussies perform badly and with us it happens so manytimes. Brisbane was so good and Adelaide we seem to be back to normal. It is sad that inspite of so much money being pumped in Indian cricket we don't have bowlers to win test matches. Why do we perform below our potential all the time? Whenever we perform it is individual brilliance and others win on basis of teamwork. Even this test, every Aussie contributed with the bat and we like always 1-2 battsmen.

When the player's statistics are shown all seem to have their best against India and always we find someone in theseries who keeps piling runs against us.

It is high time we start to think on consistency otherwise the public would all the time look for a surprise performance from the team where we would do well.

I am not being pessimistic but what saddens me is that we never play according to the potential we have.

Sachin - a great player & a victim of superfluous pampering
by Ahmed on Dec 13, 2003 02:26 PM

Sachin is no doubt a world-class player. What a record he has. If we ask a school going boy, which Indian player he likes the most, without any hesitation the answer will be Sachin. Unfortunately a great player like Sachin has been a victim of unnecessary pampering by the media and most importantly by cricket legends like Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, etc.

Today Sachin got out for just one run shattering all our hopes to draw this test match against powerful Aussies. Sachin was playing his natural game, but due to unnecessary pampering which leads to over expectations, he is not performing well, particularly during important occasions.

What are the views of Cricket lovers with regards to Sachins debacle ?

Tendulkar's form
by Chandra Shekar on Dec 13, 2003 01:58 PM  | Hide replies

Please remove Tendulkar from the Test team because he is not able to perform consistently like Laxman and Dravid. There are no instances where Tendulkar performed in crisis situations. He is always a failure in times of cirsis.

It is better to have him only in One Day versions.

In fact , Sachin is not performing in Australia ,but you don't forget when Sachin is in the team, the confidence level of all the players are high. And suppose ,removing of Sachin ,then who will come .No one can take the place of Sachin.
