Indian 'greats' don't even try to stick to the wicket
by Jaydeep on Dec 14, 2003 06:20 AM

It is amazing how Indian batsmen either socre less than 5 runs, more than 40 or a century. They get out for such low scores that a bad form cannot even be an explanation to it. Even if every batsman scores a 40 odd it can go a long way in building partnership. ONe batsman out of 5 comes up with a superlative performance in ever match with the rest sitting in the dressing room clapping

RE: first 2 days of the second test
by mohan srinivas on Dec 14, 2003 05:50 AM

i hope ganguly and co., after this test match is over, win or lose, remember that australia were 400 for 5 at the end of day 1 and that kumble had 0 wickets then...and not just that he took a five-for. also his figures were very expensive. i hope they remember these facts and play murali kartik in the third test. kartik is a much more aggressive and talented bowler who can trouble australia considerably, while kumble could only trouble the tailenders after the damage to us was done. in my opinion, murali kartik should have been picked for this second test as well (not to mention the entire series!), but they decided to spare(?!) him from his jet lag...how often is the indian team management that considerate to a player anyway? i get the feeling that kartik would have given his right hand to play in this test in spite of his jet lag, and on the evidence of kumble's day 1 bowling, could he have done any worse? with zaheer not playing, i was flabbergasted that though kartik was there, kumble was picked for this test.

Sachin is Human
by Amit Kaushal on Dec 14, 2003 05:31 AM

Don't put so much pressure on Sachin, he is afterall a human. Going by the law of averages,I am very sure he would click in the second innings. Don't panic friends.

Its not a careless cricket
by rajesh verma on Dec 14, 2003 01:55 AM

you have said that there was a careless cricket from the indian batsmen. I would say it was not. Records shows that our team members have better records than the australians at home. This is because of the pitches we play on at home. It makes a lot of diference to play on a faster track like that in australia. We need to develop fest track back at home rather than just depending on our batsmen and spinners to do something on the pitches they have never played.

sachin again !!!!!!
by balaji.G on Dec 14, 2003 01:07 AM

even as i am a fanatic of sachin, i , at times ( especially when india lost the chennai test to pak even after 1 of the gr8test knocks from sachin's blade ) feel he has to prove a lot to get along with his west-indian counterpart, lara when it comes to matchwinning ability. even though lara at times mite struggle like a school boy at times, he has produced some outstanding innings that won matches 4 west indies ( more importantly )
