All we have done so far is drawn the first test. The Indian media has already started the frenzied celebration as if we have the series in our pocket. Although I liked the way our guys competed in the first test with grit and determination, the series is a long way from being over. If the past experience are any indication, Indian team would look like a world beaters one day, right next day it'd look much less ordinary. Indian media is major culprit in the fluctuating fortunes of the Indian team. They write stuff which are out of proportion when they do fairly decent, then turn around and just drop them on the floor and kick them from every direction when they are down ;-)
it'll be really interesting to see what happens in the second test.
I think the Indian media is making too much of a fuss about the whole Gabba episode. We need to give the players some credit though, but not lift them to the skies, that has been the bane of Indian cricket. One match they look like world beaters (then starts the media praise) and the very next match one really wonders if it was the same team that did such wonders. This whole media circus could be kept for after the Test Series. Until then let our players concentrate on one thing, how to beat the Aussies.
