Why do we continue playing?
by XYZ on Dec 12, 2003 10:58 PM

If this happenes then why this matter is not taken to media?
The players should also convey this matter to Refree/BCCI chairman.
This is really pathetic.

Indian XI vs Aussies 13
by Naren on Dec 11, 2003 08:42 PM

There are numerous instances where Aussies had an unfair advantage of having 13 of their TEAM MEMBERS on the field.

If Slater can be condoned for his behaviour in Mumbai Test then the ICC then nobody should have been or never be punished for his behaviour on the field.

Manager's name incorrect
by Prabhu Rangarajan on Dec 09, 2003 11:34 PM

In your article you have mentioned Wing Cdr Salim Durrani as the manager. In fact, it was Wing Cdr SK Durrani, who is different from Salim Durrani the ex-cricketer.

Australian and their dirty cricket
by yasho on Dec 09, 2003 09:14 PM

Last year Prem Panicker, during a heated 'email' discussion, threw me a question "are those racially biased". He didnt agree with my answer. Bias is an act performed based on generalized opinion about a group. When it is against the people of a certain origin then it is called racial bias. Richie Benaud, made this comment during the audio commentary on the 4th day of the just concluded Brisben test INDIANS are SUBSERVIANT. The reason Indians are always on the short end because India takes sports in its true nature. They overlook mistakes as human error. Secondly Indian media is too busy cutting down their own team. They never objecte wrong decisions given to India but did do articles when foreigners got them. Secondly our politeness and forgiveness is considered subservience by them. They want to win at any cost. Their authorities and media take their side and justify their behavior. If Indian media and authorities dont right their acts this will never stop. Later when every thing has been put under the rug they will thumb their nose at their opponents as usual.

On the topic ...
by Raghu on Dec 09, 2003 08:09 PM

I cannot agree with the topic more - India has always been on the receiving end. However, I want to dispel one notion that is often misunderstood when it comes to lbw decisions. The leg here stands for any part of the body, except the hand. If any part of the body seems to obstruct the approaching ball towards the stumps, then the batsman can be ruled lbw. And when we specifically look at this particular dismissal - Sachin out to McGrath. The ball was short pitched all right but the ball did not have the elevation. It was in fact turning out to be a juicy one waiting to be hit. The ball was not "rising" at the point it hit Sachin as the author states. I could not make much out of the television replays about the line of the ball but the ball was in the right height to hit the stumps. I think we need to give that much to the umpires. Our ignorance should not be cast as a point against the umpires/aussies!

Flashpoint with Aussiesw.
by Hemank on Dec 09, 2003 06:13 PM

at the end of the day we all know that Aussies plau a mentle battle with teir oppenents,be it slater or macgrath on the field or suspended warne of the field. One thing which is wierd that why does not the Indian team show its aggression instead of being on the reciever's end with normally no fault of theirs.if ith icc is partial towards aussies then the indians can afford to be aggressive as more than 60% of their revenue comes through india & the players & the board of india are the richest the world over.Look at what west indian sarwan did to macgrath some time back, similarly guys like sachin, dravid, etc who command respect all over get aggressive these aussies will have to run for cover actually speaking.
so learn a lesson guys from this & use ur opponents attack tools against them AS THEY CONSIDER THE SAME AS THE MOST DANGEREOUS & WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE IT.
