india the best-only team which can dare to beat aussies
by deshpreet on Dec 15, 2003 02:00 PM

The first test between our loins and the kangaroos was a draw but even in that India has a victory.Yes the magic of our little master hasnt worked yet but i am sure that our this loin is hungry for runs and will be the India's leathel weapon against so called LEES and MCGRATH,we should not forget that he is the nightmare of the best spinner of world - shane warne.

What to say about Mr WALL Rahul Dravid and the stylish Hydrabadi Laxman.Saurav is a agrassive captian and a good bats man.If indian team is compared to airforce then Zaheer,Agarkar,Nehra and Pathan are our Sukois.
Sorry about Harbajan he has to miss the tour
Well the moral is that WE ALL SHOULD BELIEVE IN OUR TEAM AND SHOULD PRAY FOR ITS WIN

India should not be reported as the underdog
by Vijay on Dec 14, 2003 02:09 PM

it's the media and few individuals u have lableed us as the underdogs and now that we are playing well u would want us give some credit by saying we are doing well. i am want to make a case here for, why cant we prove ourselves and belive that we are the best in the business, and think froma position of strength. it's intretsing to note how the prespective changes everything. The media could have reported ssies are going to have tough time !! rather then saying Indian manged to save the match by a drwa. we saw what we belive in. lets belive we are the best and i am sure we as a countary nad as a team would do wonders. !!

Good performance
by xyz on Dec 12, 2003 04:30 AM

The Indians certainly put up a good performance at the Gabba. Ganguly and Laxman played really well after the loss of early wickets to put up a score in excess of 400.
I feel India certainly held the edge until the last day. The way the Australians, especially Hayden, batted on the final day, after Zaheer's injury, showed that the rest of our bowling is still lacking. Nehra and especially Bhajji were not upto the mark. That undid the good things we had done over the previous 4 days by some margin. We need to probably still continue with 3 seamers and a spinner, and possibly try Ramesh as an opener alongwith Chopra.
Nonetheless, Indians fought very well and played extremely well throughout. Goodluck Team India!

Rejoicing for a non-starter !!!!
by Nitin on Dec 11, 2003 11:58 PM

Well there the general conclusions seem loud and clear and the mood upbeat.Im no India baiter and am truly thrilled at out teams good performance. The 1st test agreed was a saving grace for most of us who our team would get trounced and thrashed outright. Thanks to the mediocre Aussie bowling attack, the Indians emerged without any further dent on their morale.
This is a I think a justified conclusion rather than going over the moon for a drawn test match (that too one in which rain gods played a far important role than either of the teams!)

The journey ahead is long and arduous.Itll be a real cause for celebration if our team can tame the Aussies on their soil.Lets keep the celebrations on hold untill such time.

ALL THE BEST MY TEAM !!!!!!

cricket match after all!!
by k sree on Dec 11, 2003 04:13 PM

It is a cricket match after all and on your day you can win irrespective of oppositions strength.but i request rediff not to publish messages where people tirade against each other or launch personal attacks.this can lead to problems..

gain in confidence
by k sree on Dec 11, 2003 04:03 PM

India might have gained some confidence from their performance in gabba but the fact remains that with rain deciding the outcome of play in 3 days.there was'nt any thing left in the match going into the fourth day as any side hoping to win should oversee the fall of at least 20 wickets within 2 days on a good wicket, which is a near impossible task.also, adam gilchrist on his interview on third day had said that
australia would not be going for a result with so much of play lost to rain,as it had experimented the same against newzealand a couple of years ago and very nearly lost the match.so it was a good batting practice for both the teams.

indian performance
by ramesh on Dec 11, 2003 12:53 PM

Irresepective of what waugh said, I can take many postives from Brisbane Test match :
1 Indians were bad travellers & slow starters. This myth was blown out of the windows, after our great showings in first test.
2. What was said about our captain as a weak link in out side by the Australian media, had to eat their words, again by a fantastic display of batmanship by our captain & singlehandedly balancing the favour to our side.
3.Brisbane is fastest & hardest top on Australia,(apart from perth,I didn't understand how Australian left out perth for this series),if india competed well here, then Adelaide & Sydney will favour India & Melbourne is true track & less bouncier than Brisbane.
4.Tendulkar is yet to fire & I am he will, know is past history,(i hope you will agree with me).
5. Seldom we have seen waugh making changes to his side after a drawn test(williams coming into the side),it means waugh has conceded that bichel is not upto the mark.Psychological advantage.
