GANGULY FACES A ONE TEST BAN
by vrkalyanakrishnan on Dec 05, 2003 08:54 PM

Langer's behaviour of nodding his head in disapproval of Umpire's decision needs to be taken seriously by the Match Referee and he should be punished, if Procter is as strict as he is made out to be.

He hasn't changed a bit---

Proctor hasn't changed a bit.He continues to remain the same---a pure racist who will hand out the sternest possible punishments to the players from the subcontinent but will prefer to sweep things under the carpet if the parties involved are white in complexion.Isn't it interesting to note that the player to bear the brunt of the fury of this changed person was poor Rashid Latif? Not to say that what Latif did was exactly as per the spirit of the game but the point to be noted is,why should there be different yardsticks for different people? Is it not the same as the NPT advocated by Ms.US and Co. that is based upon the same assumption that some are born better than others----intelligence wise, understanding wise, character wise and compexion wise?

Is Mike proctor being the match refree for INDIA only
by AJ on Dec 05, 2003 07:53 PM

Well, It was quiet evident by the way justin langer left the field that he was showing DISENT against the umpire for ruling him out BUT i guess this is what the match refree might term as "normal part of play". I am quite certain had the same thing been done by a 'Sehwag' or 'ganguly' , he would have been quick to reprimand them.

I am not saying that the iNdian team should not be penalised for their slow over rate but what the common spectator would like to see is a FAIR match refree who looks at both the sides equally ..... not acts as a MONITOR for just one team.
