Again India did the same mistake, when they won the toss what was the need of doing the fielding. Please Capt. dont repeat the mistake again and again.

PLZ DO NOT WRITE THE INDIANS OFF!!!!!!!!!!
by Vrijesh on Dec 04, 2003 09:30 AM

Although i have full faith in sourav but his decision to field has really put some questions in my mind!!!!
Indian batsmen have the reputation of being the best in the world!!!!!!!!
Then why did sourav not put the best to some test by making them face the challenge of countering the bowler friendly conditions!!!!!!
Anyway i think the australians will grab the challenge from both hands!!!!!!!

INDIA v/s AUSTRALIA , First Test.
by Sartape R.T. on Dec 04, 2003 07:36 AM

Saurav won the toss and elected to field. He is right. We have no bowlers. He might have thought let them score runs. We will try to score more runs than theirs. He knows that his attack is not effective to restrict them from scoring runs. India always play cricket with six players. the good news of the day is that Anil Kumble is dropped for this game. Actually we have not found effective bowler for last 50 years, perticularly REAL FAST SPEEDSTER. India need a bowler of Wesley Hall, late GILL CRISTS and I. MECKIF's calibre. We have only seen medium fast bowlers having no bating ability to depend on them in critical situations except Kapil Deo. Present bowlers are mere heavy burden on the sholders of SACHIN, SAURAV AND RAHUL. Hence, I think our selectors should choose a bowler who has scored 50s or 100 on reasonable number of times. And once he was selected he must score in the indian eleven. Such player shold not be allowed to remain in the team as burden on us. We have seen sometimes Sachin and Saurav getting more wickets than our regular bowlers. Then why not, India allow eleven players having a calibration of Sachin, Sehvag and Saurav, atleast for experiment.

Can India bowl out aussies twice?
by Madhav on Dec 04, 2003 07:26 AM

India hasn't done it last 18 years and no way they can do it this time with only 4 bowlers. With Bhajji struggling and Nehara and Zaheer bowling pathetic against aussies.

What happened to Ramesh!!!
by kumar on Dec 04, 2003 07:23 AM

This is unbelievable. Why did they ruled out this guy? He was the best batsman in our tour matches and it is totally unfare to omit him. What best Sehwag and Akash deserve to be in 11. Ganguly has shown once again his hatered towards players from TamilNadu!!!

Team Selection
by Mandrake on Dec 04, 2003 07:00 AM

We have good batting line up.
We are playing with only 4 genuine ballers.
That means Hayden will break his own record.
Anil Kumble Should have been included considering his experience and seniority.

Also Sadagopan Ramesh should have been included . Instead of Sehwag. This good batsman is not getting enough opportunities to present his abilities.

Good luck india

I wonder why Ramesh was not incuded in the squad inspite of face saving warm-up knocks. God, save India from disgrace.
