Need All Rounders
by samrat rawat on Jul 16, 2004 09:00 PM

Indian cricket team desparately needs two good allrounders. If you have to become a reckoning force in world cricket you should have 2 allrounders they can balance team if both departments like Austrial and South Aferica.

Teams are judge by One performance not on best basis.

Selectors should consider allrounders for selection.

Why treat Ramesh shabbily?
by Phanikanth Ranga on Aug 08, 2003 09:28 PM

I am really surprised as to why Sadagoppan Ramesh is being treated shabbily. He is the only genuine opener (other than SS Das) after Gavaskar, Srikkanth and Sidhu to have a decent record in Tests. He and Wasim Jaffer should open for India against New Zealand and Australia this year.

What the hell has happened to Nikhil Chopra? He seems to have lost out in the Match-fixing issue even though he was not found guilty. He is definitely a very good one-day player with a proven record. I am sure he deserves better treatment.

Also, it is surprising to find the entire India A team in the list of probables. Just because the team hasn't lost a match, the entire team should not have been rewarded. Non-performers like Vijay Bharadwaj and Satyajit Parab should have been excluded.

It looks rather disappointing and undigestable that the selectors once again omitted Tinu Yohannan from the probables list. While considering the potential that this young lad showed up within his short career, one would be forced to say that it is the lack of godfathers which once again brought him badluck.During the last England visit to India, he was the only dependable bowler for the Captain for taking wickets and displayed a mature performance.Hope his career will not follow among those of other casualities including Ananthapadmanabhan and Sunil Oasis, who didnt get the National selection just being from Kerala.

36 for camp

Hey, what about Tinu Yohannan, Abhijit Kale, Sadagoppan Ramesh and Rakesh Patel? I guess the selectors are playing musical chairs as usual. What have Vijay Bharadwaj and Rohan Gavaskar done to merit selection? Has Vijay Bharadvaj been included because he is from Bangalore so he can just wake up and come from home and go back home in the evening?( I mean the BCCI does not have to bear lodging expenses fot Bharadwaj< or is he a close pal of Dravid and Brijesh Patel) Why has Tinu Yohannan been ignored? Is there a valid reason for his exclusion?

REG Probables

There is no surprice in the selection of the probables for the challenger trophy and for the newzeland home series. But in my opinion Hrishikesh Kanitkar and S. Sharath should have been included in place of Vijay Bharatwaj and Mitun Manhas.
