Well, I am not surprised by the attitude of the "EX-Indian Cricketers". What is their problem if we have a lot of foreigners in Indian cricket. They had their chance and they blew it. When asked about Sandeep Patil occupying the post for coach of Kenya, they say that it is a very proud thing. But if some foreigner occupies the post of Indian coache then they say that it is not fair... This is ridiculous.

According to me the appointment of John Wright was one of the best thing that could have happened to the indian cricket. The only reason being, that all the Indian coaches have failed miserably because of one reason "lack of Professionalism" or in other words "Lack of Unity". The lobbying was one of the major problems of Indian cricket until John Wright came along. He has changed the entire facet of Indian cricket, at least the international cricketers. I would also like to make an open request to Dalmiya, not to remove John Wright for atleast till another World Cup. Bring in more foreigners in the management also to learn about professionalism.

As for John Wright, he has done a wonderful job, in turning a talented bunch of individuals into a fighting unit. Keep it up.

Wright is right

Let me look at it in a dofferent angle. Why I think an International coach like Wright is perfect for India is he will not have any complex issue with the players and he will be neutral and he can be perfectly professional about it. With a former player as a coach, we will have following typical Indian problems. The coach potentially will feel jealous of the success and money of the current player. He will have ego clash with the players. He will potentially have complex problems. Besides he may not be respected as much by the current players as an outsider like Wright will get.
But the problem here is, former players are not atall thinking about the betterment of Indian Cricket. they are thinking that they are loosing an income source to a foreigner, which source potentially can be theirs. These kind of people should not be allowed in the cricketing scene at all. Besides all our former cricketers are real bad fielders and athlets, so what can they teach to the new guys.

The former Indian cricketers are a corrupt
and foolish lot. Wadekar and Kapil are
public scandals. Srikkanth and Vengsarkar
are anti-Saurav crusaders(with grandpa
Dungarpur) No wonder Indian cricket is
the way it is. Lalloo mentality is all
pervasive.

I have said it before and reiterate it once again - the BCCI has to be replaced by members who play the game and have put it a minimum of 10 years in Domestic / International circuits. Running BBCI is purely an administrative job, which I am sure many of our ex-cricketers are capable of doing efficiently.

Alternatively, a parallel Board should be floated by some prominent ex-cricketers (for a change let them act instead of meaningless mockery) and they should enlist the Govt's help to get it recognised at ICC level.

A food for thought - will BCCI agree and accept the appointments of John Wright, Andrew Lupius and others if their salaries were to be sponsord by Corporate India. I am sure there would be several Corporates willing to shell out the money to these gentlemen. THis way atleast we would have some continuity in our training and coaching regimen.
