If Leipus and le Roux can earn more in their respective countries they should obviously leave India.BCCI should pay them more instead of spending on mobile phones for it is they who keep our so-called stars fit.If the players feel happy with the people involved with them to improve their overall performance then BCCI (which lives only on this game)definitely need to pay people mentioned above to the satisfaction of them.Hope BCCI realises this.

BCCI should pay them enough
by Ajay Kumar on Apr 26, 2003 12:22 PM

As BCCI is richest cricket borad in the world the what is problem to them to pay enough salry. If they can earn same amount in 6 months in South africa, then why they will stay here ?And they are not from India too may be there will be feeling for country. So no reason for them to stay here. The former cricketres of India can lough only on forgien coaches and trainers but it is hard fact that it has helped Indian cricketres a lot. They have started winning test matches abroad. The day will come soon when they will win the Test Series and who knows it will be Austraila where India starts winning test series if Austraila playes with only 111 player( i mean No asoka Desilve and other Austrain Umpires). So Just give them enough money to serve Indian Cricket team. They are also responsible for Indian team to be ther in World Cup Final.
Thats what i say.

If this article can be sent to BCCI it would be grateful .
Commenting on the raise in Fee of Leipus & Le Roux . That BCCI is not agreeing to it.I would like to bring to their notice if they have forgoten that these 2 gentleman who have improved the fitness level of Indian team to a very high level and even the entire world noticed it during the WORLD CUP that there were injury problem in other teams INDIAN team was free from it .
So whats the harm in spending more for good purpose any way when they can spend elsewhere for unwanted things.
I STRONGLY feel that they should negotiate with these people and should increase the FEE/SALARY to certain extent. That would be a great advantage to retain these to gentleman for the betterment of INDIAN CRICKET if they r looking for long term perspective

hello,
i think both le roux and leipus should be given
increment in their tenure with the indian team.the
players themselves are all praises for their work and
everybody is able to see that our players got very fit
in the recent times.regarding their salaries , it is for the board to decide on what they should be given ,keeping in mind their work.

Holier than thou?

The BCCI has done it once again. Time and again, they need to prove to everyone that they have the power to play with the lives of players and administrators. It is a well known fact that our quota system has contributed to the stagnation of our cricket. The few players who pick themselves up do so on their individual merit. At a time when the players themselves feel the importance of both the physio and the therapist, it is ridiculous of the Board not to extend their tenure - and all because a few old players made some disparaging remarks.

What is more important ; to win the tourney or to play GOD. We talk of team spirit within the players but when the top management of game do not believe and indulge in breaking the team, how can they ever appreciate the true values of team spirit.

I think it is high time, some sane cricketers like Shastri, Gavaskar and even the current crop of senior players, start an independant body and move the Government to get it recognised as the New Board of Cricket for India. Only the threat of oblivion will teach a lesson to the so called distinguised members of the current BCCI.

leipus,le roux pay
by sathya on Apr 26, 2003 11:09 AM

It is about time the BCCI thinks of increasing the pay of our trainer and physio, before we lose them, after all they along with the coach deserve credit for our team's present successful showing in South Africa .Being one of the richest and influential boards in world cricket the BCCI has strange ways of buisness indeed!

Why aren't the remunerations (if we can assume that they need them in the first place) ever in doubt ?
When will we ever see accountability and transparency in the running of Indian cricket?
A suggestion for those who have earlier represented the country and are busy commentating and/or figuring in Players' Associations - why do you not form a parallel body (even if the beginnings are to be made at the regional levels)? We can surely hope that once the apex cricket body in India consists primarily (if not entirely) of former India nationals, at least the BCCI (or whatever name it takes then) will cease to be a laughing stock it is as of today.
The primary cause - passion for the game and national pride have been overtaken by far more mundane considerations. Hopefully, this wrong will bee righted, ASAP.
