Tendulkar is the best.Don't forget that magnificent 119* against England in England to draw the match.India chasing 409 in the 2nd inns was at 187 for 6 with 6 hours to defend.He in a mix of stout defence and aggression lifted the score to 343 for 6 at the end of 90 overs.If it was not the end of the test match , i think we could have won the match the next day.This too in abroad conditions.Also that brilliant 136 against pakistan in the 4rth inns in that mineyard at Chennai.India tottering at 83 for 5, He lifts the score to 254 before back spasms ends his inns.due to our tailenders batting prowess we couldn't get the remaining 17 runs.Apart from the factor that it didn't win the match., i will place this inns above Lara's 153*.Because the pitch had become a spinner's paradise in the 4rth inns.The pitch that Lara played was only above average.Neither it was fully conducive for pace bowling nor was it for spin bowling.Sachin faced the ever destructive Wasim(be it a pace or spin pitch), willy Saqlain and his 'doosra' and Waqar.
I have read the post messages in which it was stated that Lara is better than sachin;he didn't play a so much better knocks.But you must be aware that sachin consistently play good cricket;but Lara does in certain series.
