Kaif as Captain
by Sangeeth on Apr 15, 2003 05:30 PM

Kaif has a long way to go before he is made the Captain of the team.Surely he will be the number 1 choice for captain in the future. Now Ganguly is doing his job fine.We all should stand behind Ganguly and support him.

new roles for all
by kakush on Apr 15, 2003 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

it would be wonderful if everyone in the team got a role reversal. I would suggest starting the batting at 11 and going back to 1. The bowling can be same. It is only against Bangladesh that such things can be tried.

Good show!

Kaif, 'The man of the match'. He got the due recognition for his performance!

Has Saurav stepped down as a captain? Or, is he showing any intention? Why is this captain talk? He probably is a captain material, I hope he has it in him. Infact, talks(too early) like these will only harm him rather than helping.

Future Captain
by pranay on Apr 15, 2003 02:29 PM

Md. Kaif will be the future captain for India. He has already proved that in 19 world cup. So he should be made captain immediately after Saurav's decline.

Kaif, Yuvraj, Zaheer, Ashish, Bhajji and Sehwag..well, these may be the new guys for the future and what I ould love to see is Kaif captain the Indian team, add to it, I want him to watch Steve Waugh and roll model himself accordingly, not only for being a captain but also known for his skill and cool mind. Kaif... Look out sunny... know ur the Waugh in the making...for India. I wish to share a personal thaught, However we may be fghting against muslims in pakistan, Let us try to love and serve our country men first, be he a muslim, christian, jain hindu or whatever..this unity we have to bring within us and our country for that is the only way we can see a bright future for the country. Forget what our ancestors did and what our forefathers did, lets do what we can do.

Are you a Muslim? If there was a communal bias in the indian selection, Laxman would have been in Kaif's place and some other patel in Khan's!

What about Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, Syed Kirmani and Azharuddin? All of them were captains for india. Azharuddin for a long time! Not to mention the Bollywood dominations of Khans! Don't forget, India's President is a Muslim.

Reserve your lectures for the non-secular nations!

Well Done, kaif
by Harikrishna on Apr 15, 2003 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

Its heartening to see that the youngsters performing well in the absence of Sachin Tendulkar. It will certainly relieve the pressure from the Master Blaster. Also, it will increase the pressure on Ganguly to mainain his place in the Eleven. Every body knew that Ganguly cannot handle short pitch bowling and good short bowling. Its time that the selectors think wisely and groom talented youngsters like Raidu, Gambhir rather than persisting with Ganguly.

With all due respect to you, did he say anything wrong here? Why are you so jelous of Muslims? Whatever he has said is right and we should follow it. yes, I admire India, my country, for letting Muslim cricket (based on their talents) to become what they deserve to get. If a hindu has said about equality between all religion, I would salute him rather than being rude @ him.

May Allah make all of us successful.

Good joke Buddy !! But you forget that Kaif is in the team bcos of Ganguly. And as far as Ganguly's place in the team is concerned even a thousand youngsters cannot put pressure on Ganguly. Even if Ganguly scores a hundred ducks he will still be in the side purely for his leadership.

Dear Mr.Harikrishna,

Your doubts about Ganguly's class and temparament have amused me more than any of Johny Levers jokes.

There is no doubt that Ganguly is a world class bowler and truly great captain and anyone who loves Indian cricket would not hesitate to give him credit for building up this team.

Happy Vishu Harikrishna.
