Keep up the good work, Faisal!

Nice Match report Faisal. well-written and thought out. Just my personal opinion, but I see a lot of improvement from a year or so ago, when you first took over these duties from Prem P.

Ganguly is great !!!
by Saptarshi on Apr 14, 2003 12:40 PM

Ganguly is really a great captain and a great player ...He just changed the indian team from scatch
and make it worldclass. Now SA looks underdog vs india , what it was reverse two years back.

Good job Faisal

Faisal does a good job of reporting on matches. reports facts, airs a few opinions, and thats the end of it. I would anyday take a few typos rather than have to plough through the stale and supercilious style of Prem Panicker to find out exactly what happened at the match, as opposed to his well known feelings of animosity towards Ganguly's captaincy.

Wish Faisal had written a few lines about Ganguly's innings though. He missed out against the Bangladeshis last match, but seems to have taken a liking to SA!

You wrote "stale and supercilious style of Prem Panicker". Prem tries to use more & more slags to give a flavor his fluency......Slangs do not come naturally to many Indians.......understandably since English is NOT the first-language.

In one of the Panix stations with Faisal, Prem said....."Ivan Lendell use to travel with a bloody team of ?"......I was not able to control my frustration at that time.

smith too young

The SA team looks disjointed and the captain must be an experienced I suggest it should given to Pollock or if their selectors thinks a new it will be Boucher or Klusner or Kallis. The job must be given to Match winners.

Kudos to Saisal Fhariff!
by Shantesh Row on Apr 14, 2003 12:07 PM

Please proof read the article before posting...else the Indian XI will read as: Sirendra Vehwag, Gaurav Sanguly, Sarbhajan Hingh, Minesh Dongia, Suvraj Yingh, Kohammad Maif, Mamit Ishra, Banjay Sangar, etc. Thank God, Ajit Agarkar, Parthiv Patel & Gautam Gambhir will be spared. Just like countless Indians and some ace players who seem to be jaded with cricket after the World Cup, Faisal Shariff too seems to be too bored to write anything different.

Peter Robinson?
by Ravi Kumar on Apr 14, 2003 11:52 AM

"Ganguly danced down the wicket and gave a quick lesson to left-arm spinner Peter Robinson about bowling to sub-continental batsmen"

Isn't that Robin Peterson?
