Elite C are the winners ... great but not too many cricket followers know whats going on in Duleep tropy .. what is thius rubbish about Elite and Plate. I feel the old system of playing between Zones was ideal one . Also i liked to point out that S Sriram and Hirwani did very well in this trophy. And Pankaj Dharmani was very good as keeper-batsman. I think he is good enough to play for india. he is averaging 50.00 plus in domestic season and very consistent batsmen.he should be a must in testcricket , since Parthiv , Ratra cant bat at all.
Elite X v/s Plate Y: how can one possibly get excited by such names, fan or player? So one wanted to create a new framework for adding one additional team? One could have tried to name them after past greats or in today's commercial era at least after corporate sponsors. One could have tried to host them when no international season is going on so that player and spectator involvement increases. There was a time when making it to a Duleep team was considered an achievement. How can a player playing for one of these "teams" feel a sense of achievement or camaraderie? Or perhaps it is to keep past greats like Vengsarkar or Kapil Dev happy. Heaven forbid if the domestic tournament becomes sooo popular and lucrative that foreign players and coaches become involved there too. Mere Bharath Mahaan.
