WALKOVER KING SUSHIL KR WILL RUIN INDIAN WRESTLING

The Indian contingent gave splendid performance indeed to achieve best ever medals haul. The athletes as also the sports minister RS Rathod and all his mission officials too deserve all credit. The best part is many youngsters have given brilliant performances winning medals including Gold raising hopes of competing better in Tokyo Oly.Atheletics stole the show with best ever performances going by not just medals tally but also putting up memorable performances which could be stretched to next Oympics too.Tajinder Singh,Neeraj Chopra,Manjit Singh, Jinson Jhonson,Hima das, Dute Chand...have indeed excelled and atleast some of them could aspire to be potential Oly medal winners. On the other in men's Hockey, wrestling ,Boxing, Badminton... results were below expectations with few exceptions like Vinesh Phogat,Amit Pangal, Bajrang Punia etc. In shooting couple of youngsters were brilliant otherwise it was below par. Men's Hockey team I still think is a much better side and deserved a gold. They should not lose hope as they do have the potential to do better. Areas of concern?Wrestling and Archery.Unless the clout of the ‘walkover’ king Sushil kr is neutralized Indian wrestling will be ruined completely. In archery likes of veterans Atanu Dass and Dipika kumari appear to crack under pressure repeatedly. They need to be dropped. Finally, in TT there were some medal addition but they don't look good enough for winning in Oly.

(contd.) Manika Batra is young and she can improve but Achanta has been playing for over a decade now but very little improvement is seen. He needs more variations and at his current level of performance he stands no chance in Oly.

......thanks to Team-Modi and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore who always stood "visibly" rock-solid and connected with our aspiring sportstars more than with the other stake-holders in the sporting fraternity. The Government succeeded in making its officials not to become the hurdle to the hardwork-and-sacrifices-driven aspirations of our sportstars.....Congratulations to the winners and the stakeholders, the officials, and the entire sports fraternity along with our Government which played uits due role in this pride .
