No Netas

If the so called announced task force has any one non-sportsperson .. then it is again a picnic.

Hope Baba Ramdev is not the head of this force.

Why not Baba Ramdev as head coach? Looks like you have forgotten his high jump from the podium in Delhi during fast. His rubber like body. His flickering eye will train our shooters and best of all he has Patanjali brand for everything.

I strongly support Ramdev baba to head the Olympic training committee.

Task Force
by C V on Aug 27, 2016 09:38 AM

The first thing that needs to be done to save Indian sports (for that matter any area) is to remove all political leaders from any post in sports bodies. All sports bodies must be revamped and there should be one body (on national basis) for each sport, comprising representatives from each state; which will ensure availability of adequate facilities for grooming sports personnel of their respective game and based on their performance only, persons be selected for national and international competitions. Once the interference of politics is completely removed, I am sure we can put up better performance; else it is just like writing on water

Games and Sports at world level
by Vattem Krishnan on Aug 27, 2016 08:56 AM

Olympics are played at world level by all continents say five and with participation of more than 250 countries.Even smallest countries with less resources have won.nearly 10 to 15 countries got gold and silver medals and could be placed in higher ratings.Last 5-6 olympics more or less from usha.shiny of Kerala along with Karanam Malleswri could bring laurels along with Abhinav Bindra,Rathore ji in shooting etc.Lets focus on two initial levels of Asia and common wealth and then to olympics. If we can excel in these limited competetions we can certainly do welll to bring credit to country. In Asiads China tops along with Japan and in common wealth it is UK,Germany,France,Canada. We do not not any where close to their ranks in these intra continental contests and competetion.Fitness matters and the spirit to make records with stamina and endurance are requisites.iam sure these task forces without political influences can work and bring best talents in youth. It is not show of pomp but excellence.let us send 50 or even less participants but they should target to get a medal irrespective of Gold or silver.Hope we as a big country can also select few competetors at world level to bring laurels to the Nation.

Great initiatives by Moodyji
by Parika Gupta on Aug 26, 2016 10:08 PM  | Hide replies

India will win at least 10 Gold Medals in the next Olympics, the phase where Moody ji will be in his second tenure as PM.

My humble submission is he shld also dismiss Goel ji the sports minister hand over the charge to Rajyavardhan rathore ji, the deputy minister, if I'm not wrong and also change the head honchos of all sports, associated with Olympics.

Very true,

no govt before this has harnessed the younger kids and have always sent over the hill athletes.

Plus corporates have never helped in sports by helping names like Saina or Paes.

Great and path breaking suggestions.

in fact the money we give to the athletes only after winning any medals and offer jobs, should be spent on them at the time of their training and on latest and modern equipments

iam sure we will increase our tally of medals in coming olympics

Harness the Younger Kids and train them Hard
by Tajinder Singh Virdi on Aug 26, 2016 09:58 PM  | Hide replies

Schools must be strictly ordered to comply with the sports regime necessary to tap and harness young students.Follow the system of USA and Russia. Implement it with corporate money for CSR.
Schools must forget about CGP scores etc.DO not fail the students till 10th std.Let there be big shift in our "rusted" education system.

It is true by catching them young and at school levels and continue to train them would lead to better National events.Today National champions are held but the enthusiasm to set records at higher levels is yet to come.China,USA,Germany and many countries see professional outlook in sports and games.Like in cricket professionalism has to be cultivated by hard core training of youth .may be we need more academies instead of regional level SAI

This step should have been taken by PM immediately after becoming the PM. The results would have been different.

includes ex sports persons and coaches as they are the best to catch the talent.

we have enough talent in our country, the problem is with the selection system and the officials who only sees their positions and post and their free entertainment on the cost of exchequer
