Federer's nemesis
by sourish konar on Jun 06, 2011 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

I am a federer fan...but now it seems it is impossible to beat rafa here and may be in any surface by federer...lets wait and see what happens in future...nadal may win 10/12 RG trophies..unless novak or anybody stops him...Federer cannot stop him.. anyway congrats to rafa..

Even after retirement Federer will always feel that he is not able to beat one man...thats true..

But still love to be a Fedex fan..

Fedex played some good tennis but he blew all his chances.I've never seen Rafa play as sub par as he did today, and if Fedex couldn't beat him today, rest assured he never will be able to.He should have easily closed out the first set and kept the pressure up,but he blew it when it mattered most.

yes fedex should have won the first set but ...he might have lost the match...donno...what would have happened...but even after the third set Nadal had too much energy left in him..Fedex cannot match that..too bad for a great champion like him losing to a single player so many times...we fedex fans are feeling so bad..after each match

There is no need to feel bad. Both players are great ambassadors of the sport and are great friends apart from rivals. They play each other with maximum intensity but have great respect for each other.Nadal is just too mentally strong and determied, and he pounces on any chink in Fedex's armour.

lol

"when fedex plays you see mind soothing music" - from a Federer fan's twin brother.

Now, go home and play some soothing music to nurse your injuries.

usually I have seen people silently moving away from the place if they know they will be insulted... but there are some people who take a rod(bamboo) in their hands, and go give it to those people and ask them to shove it into their "behind" - empty headed bangotango, is the second category!!! hahahahaa... ROFL!!!

i think federer's game has become very predictable. even we know where he is going to hit the next ball. He needs to change cause rafa has read his mind and game very nicely.

I hate the gym. I don’t spend much time in there and I never have done – I just don’t see why. I only ever run when there’s some point to it – say, if it’s in a game of tennis. I do a lot of aerobics in the pre-season period, but after that I keep fit by playing in tournaments."
- Rafael Nadal - negating months of arguments from his supporters that his muscles were from hard work in the gym (don't worry, they found new reasons).

Yes you are correct. I am a Federer fan, but congrats to Rafa. Actually if anyone wants to beat Rafa then he must not give him a single chance. Federer did that mistake in the 1st set when he was cruising ahead to win the set, but gave chances to Nadal not only to come back but also to win the set. That was just stupid. We tennis lovers are blessed to see these two greats playing each other since last 4-5 years. Lets see what happens in wimbledon

Asking again, do few die-hard Federer fans prefer (1) or (2)?
by Another Critic on Jun 05, 2011 11:26 PM

(1) Federer beating Novak in a Semi Final and Rafa beating Federer in the Final of a Grand Slam

(2) Novak beating Federer in a Semi Final and Novak beating Rafa in the Final of a Grand Slam

The vein on that bicep is extraodinary - just like Nadal's court coverage and ability to generate huge power with his arm alone. If Federer had played as well as he did against Djokovic he might have made it; but he didn't - and as an apparently normal tennis player and athlete he ultimately stood no chance against the heavyweight physicality of the Spaniard. I don't really recognise what Nadal does as tennis; his brute power has turned it into something else. And isn't wonderful how, after his usual early-round struggles, he always manages to peak at the right time, running faster and hitting harder in the second week until he is in a league of his own in the final? I wonder how many games Isner would have got today.

There are no rocket science my dear,
Nadal is to strong physically and mentally compare to others.
He does not have as classic way of playing others but have great ability to reach the ball and defence.

Great Tennis..But Sad for Fedex
by Jatin Das on Jun 05, 2011 11:23 PM  | Hide replies

Great Tennis. Congrats to Rafa. Fedex showed his brilliance in patches through out the match. But I think he lost the plot in the 1st set itself when he let the very good opportunity to win the set slip away from his hands & there Rafa made a come back into the match.

Rafa is a warrior, 6 French Opens, 10 Grand Slams and counting...
by Another Critic on Jun 05, 2011 11:22 PM

6 French, 7 Monte Carlo, 6 Barcelona, 5 Rome - Rafa, The Undisputed King of Clay.

None has ever more than one tournament 6 times. Rafa has three already.
