Nadal vs Fed
by super hero on Jan 28, 2011 08:38 AM

To cal Nadal GOAT, we have to wait 4 more years and see. All you can tell right now is that he is a better player than Federer. Guess that leaves Fedex in a limbo ..hahhaha

Djokovic has really hit top form. Not Federer's best performance, but it still should not be considered as a shock defeat.

Djokovic outclassed Federer in all departments. Federer committed too many unforced errors and confidence was lacking in him.

"Players can use short-acting steroids in combination with human growth hormone which will produce muscle mass and enormous power, and while they can stop just before a competition and test clean, they still get the performance benefit of the drugs" Former chief executive of the Australian Sports Drug Agency, John Mendoza, 2002, claiming that tennis was approaching a crisis similar to the one swimming faced at the farcical 1994 Rome world championships and that cycling encountered before the Tour de France drug busts in 1997.

it was a great run once again for federer
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Jan 27, 2011 10:48 PM  | Hide replies

federer has nothing left to prove. whatever tournaments he is going to win from now on are going to be bonus. he is already a legend in tennis and the greatest tennis player in history. Djokvic played a great tennis match. federer could have easily won it. he missed alot of opportunities. I really like andy murray's chances. Its about time he should win a grandslam and he won't have to worry about federer this time. its going to be a great final.

nice comment and absolutely correct....I think at present Murray has a btr game than Federer and it's going to be a classic final...but don't discard Ferrer whoz also playing really well....

The problem 4 Federer is that he has lost the sting in his serve, guess age is catching him up with his game .... even the speed on the forehand also has come down a bit...

wtvr may be , Federer is a Legen Of Tennis and Greatest Of All Time...

Bango Tango:

:) you list the serious issues with his game and then say that he is still superior to Nadal? :)

Given that he is going downhill (as per your own analysis), and Nadal still has his best to come, won't it be good to just say both are good players "at this time" and leave it at that?

Once both their careers are over; you can resume with the "Greatest of All time" discussion. Sounds fair?

Could have easily won? Won't have to worry about Federer? Good joke.

No one worries about Federer any more and every Tom, Dick and Harry is beating Federer.

Federer should play more tournaments like cincinnati, san diego, indian wells or masters tour finals, where there will be a three setter games. Any five setter matches and tournaments are going to be tough for Federer to win especially with Djokovic and Murray at age 23 and getting more matured.

ON last 4 GS he lost, he has some kind of injury/illness. FO 09 he had knee issues but was playing an exho before Wimby draw to "test" his knee. USO 09 loss to Delpo- he was just coming back from injury plus an slight abdominal tear so thats okay (he is yet to get to top form) - so all is well. AO 10 - knee tear again. Now AO 11 - virus plus hammy but play almost invincible tennis in between all this. He would have brought injury issues during Wimby 10 if he had lost to some nobody in the 5 setter in the early rounds after MTO drama. He survived and won the whole tournament and he is fit.

Aah, you never stop this "baseless crap"? Do you?

Rafa was on the verge of rewriting history and would have siezed the slightest opening available. It's sad that he had to end his quest for "Rafa Slam" that way.

Surprising that both the champs lost, never it happened earlier. This is in a way good for the game as one more champion will come and provide stiff competition to these two.

Rafa is too good a playa and is only 25, why enough of Rafa? Rafa has time on his side and could win many more slams. It is Federer that collected majority of his slams without much competition when Rafa was either young or was injured.

Federer started winning slams at 22 or 23 unlike Rafa who first won French at 19 or 20. Only Rafa used to be a thorn in Federer's leg before. Now even the kids like Djoko, Murray are growing up (they both are 23 now), playing solid tennis and preventing Federer from accumulating more slams easily.

Do you think Nadal and Uncle Toni are not going to do anything about his injuries, hold popcorn and watch tennis matches at home?

Anyways, the jealousness of Federer fans is not going to stop Rafa from adding more grand slams.

Instead of celebrating Federer's victories, Federer fans will start celebrating Rafa's rare losses as he has good and realistic chance of winning more than 16 slams than any other current player on the ATP tour.

Rafa is the only player on the ATP tour that can win Australian, French, Wimbledon and U.S. at his will.

Djokovic, Murray, Berdych may win on hard courts but will falter at French and Wimbledon.

Seriously, I don't think Federer has any chance of winning a slam except at Wimbledon. That too if he cuts on his unforced errors and may be for the next two years.

Name calling again? Yeah, what else can you do now, the "towel thief" can hardly add to his slam count.

Did he steal 4 more towels yesterday also? I think he likes 4, if he cannot steal 4 slams, he can steal 4 towels at least.

Federer is a Champion. So is Sampras. Nadal has achieved a lot too. But we all need to accept the fact that one's era has to end as and how new players emerge. I see players like Murray, Djokovic and Del Potro take the stage now. It was hard for me to see Sampras' era end by Federer. But with time we realize that Change is permanent. Nadal will play for a few more years before his wagon comes to a halt. My bet is on Murray for the Australian Open 2011.

Bango Tango.....the way you write your comments here, its clear that you would be happy if Rafa loses, it doesn't mater to you if Feddere wins (coz its not going to happen anymore:-)). So Rafa's losses are more important for you as compared to Fed's wins......what a shameless attitude.....pathetic.
