CWG fiasco
by Srinivasan Iyer on Sep 24, 2010 07:48 PM  | Hide replies

It is not a failure of Congress but a failure of Indian mentalioty of 'chalta hai chalega'. Corruption and inefficiency is a national trait. All politicians are the same ilk. Anyone in power would have created the same mess unless the army was made in charge as soon as things started going sour. Kalmadi should have been sacked along ago. This is not the job for the PM though he has woken up too late. Corrective measures should have been taken right from the start. The previous Sports Minister slept on this project from 2003 to 2005/6. If he felt that we shouldnt have taken the responsibility of the CWG, he should have taken a strong position against it right from the start. Let us accept and face the fact that our national spirit needs to be overhauled irrespective of any political differences. Let us at lkeast learn our lesson from this fiasco.

Yes I agree with you. These guys can take their cuts but ensure that the nations pride is not hurt.

By staging the Olympics last year, China displayed to the world its prowess and that it had arrived on the world scene.

These glaring difficiencies of our chaps will take India a long long time to find its due place among the comity of nations.

When it comes to CWG the journalists as well as common people simply blame the poor deputies like GIll,Shiela ..As another friend asked was the MMS sleeping when the prepartions started few years back..? Should he not have conducted periodical review meetings on CWG which affects the very image of the country..Had this been a BJP government , the same journalists would have asked for PM's resignation..And what happened to that lady from Italy who takes credit for each and very development work and her sudden silence on the mess on CWG..And the media is also acting as if Sonia / Rahul has nothing to do with this CWG..What a shame the congress government has brought to this country..Nobody can excuse for such shabby status of CWG games..

Only Governor
by S B on Sep 24, 2010 07:48 PM  | Hide replies

Governor the only person not having powers and non-political shivered because he had some shame left, despite of not his fault. On the other side politicians like Kalmadi, Dikshit, Gill, Manmohan do not feel any shame. Where are those stupid Rahul and Sonia now? Why they are always off the camera during any scam may it be CWG, Volker, Inflation, Sugar import, Wheat Import, 2G Spectrum, IPL? All scams must be showering money on them so they do not prefere shiver!!

Well that is our mentality, always pin point to sonia & Rahul. These stupid misnisters can not win the contest including Prime minister. Do you think without sonia PM could have become PM. MMS even never won in LS election. These idiots are not able to work even after getting top position. this shows only these people are in-capable at all level. Now donot say sonia & Rahul asked them not to work for CWG.

The worst PM India ever had!
by bharat sant on Sep 24, 2010 07:48 PM  | Hide replies

So many comments are already there, the best is that our dear Man Mohanji has 'beaten' the record of Kumbakoran. But people forget that 'orders' for sleep or wake up come from 10 Jan Path. Science searches for the truth. So my dear fellow Indians, you have now found the truth. Atleast wake up now and vote in every election or bye-election for atleast next 10-15 years, anyone, absolutely any one, except the Congress. Not one Congress person, MP, MLA, or otherwise opened his or her mouth and conveyed their feelings about CWG. One cannot really praise Mani Shankar Iyer for exposing the happenings of CWG, because in the first two years of CWG preparation he was the Sports Minister and it is he who should have laid a strong foundation for the 2010 event. What a shame? All these half a dozen top people, PM and ofcourse UPA Chairperson included, should drown themselves, what the saying goes in Hindi: Chullu bhar pani mey doob marey.

KODU's TO THE MEDIA;WHETHER THEY ARE RIGHT OR WRONG!
by sudhakar sk on Sep 24, 2010 07:47 PM  | Hide replies

Why did even PM and his group of Ministers were sleeping.

He too should share he burden equally.

Not only CWG but the way he and his team has
handled corrupt Sharad Pawar
on rooting food grains
and people starving below the
pooverty line; why does he not
get angry with these corrpt Ministers.

Why is he protecting him. Is it just becuase
sufferers are Indian brothers and poor marginalise, who have not voice.

This is too bad Dr.Singh ji!.

We hope, in case you are going to
sack Mr.Kalmadi he should first sack
Most corrupt Sharad Pawar first.

Good, PM finally cracked the whip........
by Globalcrusador on Sep 24, 2010 07:45 PM

This move showed the utter incompetence of the 3 excuse oriented ministers, viz, Jaipal Reddy, MS Gill and Sheila Dixit. Really speaking, MS Gill should have taken over the ownership & accountability for the entire games and played a hands on game instead of being a silent spectator. Sheila Dixit did not endear herself to the masses because of the Dehi trait of missing deadlines and putting too much faith in the jugaad factor. The most glaring weakness was that no one person was putin overall coordination charge as Mani Shankar Aiyer had suggested right in the beginning.

being the most corrupted country of the world, we never care for the image of the country. We just demonstrate how corrupted we are. Shame. I am shame to be an indian. See how Chinna conducted the olympics. Even USA is just nothing before them.

So finally Kumbha Karan has woken
by harish raj on Sep 24, 2010 07:43 PM

So finally Kumbha Karan has woken from his sleep of six months. The same time when all the wrong doings started coming to light.
Now even Lord Hanuman i.e. Narender Modi cannot save.
People have made a big mistake by bringing this govt. back to power. Whatever was left to be done in the first five year term, they are upto finishing in this term. And what a good progress, they have achieved it in 1 1/2 years. 3 1/2 years are still remaining.
