India Rocks
by gittanjali on Oct 04, 2010 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

I feel greatly proud of my country for its democracy and rich culture.

The Ayodaya verdict and now the successful opening ceremony the good reviews and reports flooding in, makes me absolutely proud of my country.

Wish to see such success ratio as a regular pattern in all spheres of our lives and in the country.

Great!!

yeah, london olympics is going to cost them 2200 crores but cwg will cost us 70000 crores. we dont hear farmer deaths in england, 70,000 crores would have been helpful to a extremely large no of families to lead a decent life. howmuchever grand opening or completion of game it might be. it is not what india wants... it is like celebrating your kids birthday spectaculary and not having money to feed and school. we sure r a shameful lot but to forget corruption so fast and accept whatever happens. india is sure hopeless

Its people like you which saddens me immensely something we are trying to achieve let us atleast appreciate the effort.
Understandable and appreciate what you say but are we always to handle misery in our country? let us also learn to accept success stories like this and stop being cry babies!

There are some poor people here in this forum who have never heard of terms like Soft Power of a country.

So Gitanjali & Clinton, do not feel bad b'coz of such ignorant people.

They are like a typical baniya who can never understand why companies spend money on advt. They r people with a small vision and even narrower outlook to life.

Be that as it may, we should cheer for the sake of our country and take the burden of carrying such pessimists along.

Btw, country spent 70K crores not entirely on the games but also for infrastructure like the new world class airport in Delhi, Metro and stadiums.

And I am sure if we were able to somehow get rid of the corruption then the 70K Cr spending would have come to 20-30K Cr. The rest 50k Cr is in pockets and lost in mis-management.

by vijaya kumar on Oct 04, 2010 03:08 PM  | Hide replies

Very expensive mela, if compare other mela, half of the money credit to kalmadi, shela dixit, congress party, sonia mino, rahul mino, etc... 6 times more than the spending of Melbourne game. The money all gone to someone personal accounts.

Right, because of CWG, the infrastructure of Delhi has been completed on time and ahead of schedule, if it was done through normal channels, it would have taken a very very long time...

Chak Dita INDIA
by Gurvinder Singh on Oct 04, 2010 03:07 PM

I will have to find an appropriate word to depict the quality of opening ceremony of CWG 2010 at Delhi. The word like outstanding, sensation, awesome, brilliant, excellent are suitable but not the best to define the ambiance of fully packed stadium& Enjoyed each second of three hour ceremony.

All is Not Bad .. Chak Dita INDIA !!

Hope the dazzle will not affect the supreme.

Supreme must intensify its penetration into the corruption aspect of the games once the games are over.

If the people at the top are partners in the process of prostitution it is very likely the apex would hardly make any progress.

In an IPO like this with the magnitude of 77k crore Suresh just cannot be alone.

He is just a Telgi.

Find the bhujbals and sharads who corroborated.

All these "games" after the game is over.

The sharads and bhujbal pay their taxes to sonia mania and rahul
So they will never be punished.
Even if India is shamed or their mother is shamed or their wife is shamed they only know the language called Money

DAZZLING SHOW WILL NOT OVERSHADOW EXTREMES OF CORRUPTION
by kailash gupta on Oct 04, 2010 03:00 PM  | Hide replies

Aerostat epic center of opening ceremony has reflected highest level of corruption in this country.aerostat which would have cost not more than 25 crore has been purchased at mind boggling price of 7o crores.Over and above this the most corrupt person kalmadi was allowed to give opening speech from the podium where our great PM was also seated.what a showcase to the world. The dazzling lights in the stadium are not good enough to blind people to see rampant corruption invoved in the game.Even song sung by A R REHMAN WAS NOT WORTH ANY THING WHICH HAD A COST OF 5 CRORES.YES hariharan gave an outstanding performance.Ugly episodes have certainly outshadowed the extravagant opening ceremony of cwg.Atleast the indians will not digest it.

Agreed. But it is a slap on the media like HT which have been highly negative about India's preparedness to field the games.Such media should tender an open apology.
