India needs at least 200 synthetic surfaces. We need to train our school kids on such surfaces. There is no use training the national team on synthetic turf when they have grown up on grass and dust. Schools and colleges should insist on such surfaces. Technology has taken over world sport and unless we move with the times, we will be left far behind. We have the talent but that is less than half the story.
Use funds wisely to develop player skills, equipment, coaching and infrastructure in existing hockey stadiums rather than building esoteric ones in far off places which will be visited rarely. This is seriously a wasteful expenditure and most likely to become a 'tourist spot' in Shilaroo.
good news for Indian Hockey, hope its utilised properly and there are no water and other problems for maintaining the turf. more camps should be held in coorg and places for adjusting to such altitudes.
it will get rotten in few months as authorities will not have funds to maintain it or even if they have they will not utilise it for ground ( they will use it for themselfs )
