Dont start blaming Indian players without getting the facts right. Leading atheletes in the world have signed the WADA code just becoz they had to. They did not sign becoz they wanted. Its not only the Indian cricketers but players like Federed, Venus Williams have voiced their concerns against this WADA code. Cricket boards in England, Australia, SA and NZ have signed the WADA code as they were forced by their govt. These baords get funds from the govt for development of the game at grass roots level. BCCI is an autonomous body which does not get such funds. PCB has signed the WADA code. I guess the only reason for them doing this is that BCCI is against it. Even FIFA is not fully WADA compliant due to similar concerns. The threat to player's security cannot be taken lightly after what happened to SL team in Pakistan earlier this year.
Indian cricketers win world cup once in 30 years, but they r filthy rich and they do not need to sign these kind of contracts.
IPL pays them millions, sponsors billion, they r treated like Gods in India, who cares if they did not reach even semi-final or super-eight in world cups the players, Dhoni needs more Hummers, Sachin needs partments in Bombay, they don't have even time to practice playing short pitch bowling how will they have time for signing contracts. BCCI support the great cricketers

Get a life. If they are Gods so be it. In the Us foot Ball players are God. They make billions. There is some sport in each country that is very popular and it may beat all your logic. But that is life. Be glad the whole of India has one sport for their get away.

may be u r right but WADA is for all the sports and i dont think so that football players have any concerns about it. If they are making billions then on the other hands they are delivering also. Indian cricketers are making billions but delivering 0 most of the time. It seems to me that only Indian cricketers are having privacy and no other sports person is having any privacy ha ha

Well if you respect your privacy, you need to fight for it. If others didn't, are you going to blame that on cricketers ?. Standing up for your free time is a crime ?.
Miss Sania Mirza should better concentrate on her tennis n win atleast a match in a grand slam Stop telling cricketers what to do n what not to She is just good at showoff n flaunts

"we can find a winner for tennis"... tells me your depth in sports... you don't "find", you put effort to "train" one... and posting in rediff is not exactly "training" talents...

funny ...but true. It is easy to sit on our arse and judge her or to talk abotu "finding" someone else. I guess you have to have played at a professional level to even conceive this thought ..

Anybody in India is considered god (plus half teh Indians watch women's tennis to look at their bo)(obs anyway).
Sania may not have a great standing in the world stage, but I give her credit for coming up to where she is considering the pathetic state of infrastructure of Indian sports scene. Plus she didn't have much to contribute towards all the controversy - Indians (Mullahs mostly) took care of that.

As per this clause the signed players are monitored by satellite for any doping offence. Also they will ask the players to come to their office to get the blood test carried out. This is not accepted by bcci.

any sport other than cricket will be a total flop in India bcz of the narrow minded architecture of the society!!!
Re: Re: Re: American football
by Partha Choudhury on Aug 05, 2009 01:28 AM
Depend on what your definition of "sports" is. American have never shown much flare for "sports that involve brian" - like Chess. In American sports, coach does all the thinking and stops the game every 5 minutes to tell players what to do during teh next 5 minutes. Save Bobby Fisher - who was an ntelligent "athlete" and hence didn't jive well with US government.

load of crap. Indian infra is not built for sports, i would buy. That precisely is the problem. Here access to sports facility is a luxury or status symbol.
