People are forgetting this was a man who has an continous history of drug(cocaine abuse). And now the federationw as to give employment. He also cheated in the 'hand of god', where actually England deserved to win. In civilised Europe, he wud have been banned long time back. But Samericans i guess are sentimental abt such people. Also, apart from 1986 wrld cup, he has done nuthing else. So he's a one hit wonder. Anyway, now England(my fave team) are poised to take over at the top of the world. WIth lampard,gerrard,rooney in hot form. Watch out for England!

u know what, these people rooney and beckham n all... they themselves cant compare themselves anywhere near to maradona... coz they know what they are in real game... so forget about we all discussin here ... Any professional footballer in the world respects Maradonna as they understand game and knows what this man is all about.. we just watch game...

Man, i pity u as u have never seen the real brilliance of Soccer, instead see it as fashion like the people in Mumbai , Bangalore or Delhi, who go gaga seeing Becham's body. And though England is a good side, they are not at par with the best in the world, they have just one WC win in all these years.And the best soccer is played by the South Americans.

My friend, he's a class player no doubt. But when ur the only star in a 11 man team U'll stand out more and u'll be the one hyped up. But pele had 10 world class players with him. SO all took credit equally. He's the living god man. 3 world cups to 1. Which's better? As for England...yeah, they may have underachieved. But compare Argentinas team and Englands team. Lampard,ferdinand,rooney etc are easily better than others(except Messi)

You say that because you only watch EPL. Look at videos of Riquelme etc. and you'll know why Brazil and Argentina are the dominant football teams no matter what the world rankings say.

Pele played just few matches in 1958 WC win.In 1966 WC he again never played the full tournament,Garincha was the hero for Brazil.In 1970 Brazil could have won without Pele, this being considered the best ever soccer side in history.So Pele's contribution in 3 WC wins is less that Diego's contribution in the single WC 1986.Again, your blog suggests that u dont know the full history, just the summary.That happen, if you are not passionate about the game.

Sandeep u are a kid who gets excited seeing Becham...se my comments below.Diego Maradona is considered the greatest ever in soccer.Cocaine cant impact your soccer skills.So the drug couldnt degrade the God of Soccer. Also, Diego , apart from the 1986 WC, took a third grade Italian team Napoli to European Cup victories and Italian League victory(most competative legue in 1980-90).This is unthinkable achievement.Like the 1986 WC, his strint to make Napoli a world class side single handedly makes him the greater than Pele.Maradona never had any support from great players.He was a 10 man ermy.Ofcourse i pity the people who never seen his skills, might be they are not passionate about the sport.

and then after 2 mins....the greatest goal in soccer.dribbled past 5 english defenders and pushed the ball to net....oh i saw the 1986 WC.There was never a greater individual brilliance in any team sports or there would never be one. Ofcourse those kids who are excited to see Becham or Ronaldo( and their naked body, not much soccer), they can only remember the hand of god.Yes the god of soccer is Diego.
