That's not true. Religion is personal matter and it should in in your private life. I think, she is much much better Muslim than you and your community.

Indi, I do not disagree with you.
Religion is between me and my Allah. I have ABSOLUTELY no authority to put pressure on Sania Mirza on what she wears or on her lifestyle. It is her PERSONAL decision. The only people that can influence her are her parents.
Under the Islamic tradition, she has the right to wear what she pleases.
There are dressing protocols in Islam, BUT, NO ONE, expect your guardian, can influence you.
What we see today is people going beyond their jurisdiction and trying to extend their authority and forcing people. That is UNISLAMIC.
One thing Allah guarantees is FREE WILL. He is judge you on how you use that FREE WILL. Not some Mullah or a Mufti.
These MUllahs/Muftis need to start minding their own lives.

yepp dar gayi... thnx to our jobless population !! who scream just to come in limelight without any reason
Stray dogs bark all the time-- but one dosen't kneel down and bark back. Sania, jealous & ignorant people are every where in this world and that doesn't mean you give them the luxary to dictate your course of life.Do what you, Sania think is right and good for you--the world will start shaping itself around you. As they say ,"THE WORLD... IT'S A NAUGHT TO ME--MYSELF-- THE SELF IS ALL TO ME" Go Sania and let the dogs bark-- they have nothing better to do! Love you Sweeti-- Give 'em HELL! D.P.Duggal

It does matter in dirty Indian enviorament. The community is stincking and they don't want young talents to bloom. Sania is perfect example. You guys have killed her game and talent.
Dear Sania, I respect your decision. But what worries me is the reason behind your decision.
Under normal circunstances, I am sure you would have participated in this event.
Being a Muslim, I do not agree with the sporting attire. But following the Islamic principle, it should be the left to the individual to decide what to do and what to wear.
I defend your right to play in this country. These controvercies were not created by you, but by the "AGENTS OF INTOLERANCE" in our country.
As Muslims and also as Indians, we have invested too much is things that are symbolic. I wish you all the best in life.

Dear Sai, Religion is between an individual and his/her God.
I have ABSOLUTELY no authority to put pressure on Sania Mirza on what she wears or on her lifestyle. It is her PERSONAL decision. The only people that can influence her are her parents.
Under the Isl@mic tradition, she has the right to wear what she pleases.
There are dressing protocols in Islam, BUT, NO ONE, expect your guardian, can influence you.
What we see today is people going beyond their jurisdiction and trying to extend their authority and forcing people. That is UNISL@MIC.

These MUllahs/Muftis need to start minding their own lives.
W.r.t. woman's clothing in sporting events...They seem to get shorter by the day. They have a right to wear what ever they want.
But when it comes to my daughter/wife, I can influence their dress code. Men wore pants in the 50's.
Sania can wear a Burkah or wear nothing. I care less. Because it is NOT my responsibility. She is not my wife/sister/daughter. I have no JURISDICTION over her.
We tend to expand over authority over others. That is the big problem. My responsibility is towards my family. Nothing more, nothing less. I cannot force/influence others decisions.
Once we all understand this, there will not be many "CONTROVERCIES"

Imran, It is very encouraging to see a message like yours. Congratulations to you for being who you are. Please try and spread your attitude among other muslims.
She is absolutely right in confirming her manager's decision.People are unnecessary drawing her into controveries eversince she has started climbing the rankings to 50 and below.Their basic intention is to gain mileage and popularity and if possible something else. Every celeberity in India has become a victim of such whimsical contoversies, knowingly or unknowingly. Well done Sania, concentrate & improve your game and climb up the ladder,as long as you represent India and make the country proud, whether from the Indian soil or from foreign soil.We all are proud of you.Do not get distracted come what may. anil_mallick@rediffmail.com

Mr. Karthik... She is the only INDIAN GIRL who reaches in THIRD round or grand slam tournaments.
If Sania thinks its a problem or controversy every time she plays in India its better she does not play here. We want her to break into top 10 and if that happens thats fine. This would be a slap in the face of people who do not respect people with talent. You can keep the Indian flag flying high without playing in India
