Dear Sania,

No doubt I, a great fan of Tennis from the times of Bjorg Borg will miss you. I am proud that you are from our India.

But you know what you are doing. In the best interest of your life and Tennis, I am sure you will take a right decision.

Wherever you go, just remember that only a few Indians trouble you. Most of us (Indians) love you as our sister or daughter.

For marriage, Please get hold of a good guy who will not spoil your sporting talents. We don't want to lose a Tennis star like you. Anyway it is on God's hand (Insha Allah).

ALl the best.

Sania is an Indian treasure
by sri on Feb 04, 2008 10:17 PM  | Hide replies

My complete sympathies with this wonderful player who has done India proud. Shame on our people who behave so badly as to shackle her in this way. She is an Indian patriot and Mahesh Bhupathi recently revealed how she gave up lucrative offers so she could play for India.

Sad!

Dude she is just playing for money, like all our cricket heroes. Not many of them play for the sake of making India proud.
If she had a lot more talent she would have moved years back to USA like Sharapova. so chill. with this level of talent, she is sure that she can't survive long there..

by Your Nemesis on Feb 04, 2008 10:50 PM
hey nameless creature...have you ever taken a tennis racquet in your hand ? ever ? bugger, even to take it in hand, you will ask for sponsorships! You ass warmer won't even be able to imagine the gruiles of the tennis tour. You will pee in 5 minutes if you stand in the midst of a stadium filled with tennis savvy crowd, let alone hit few balls. Your skull may be too hard to understand these indirect terms, so let me make it clear - It is not worth all the gruiles, if she doesn't get what ever money she gets now. And nobody is asking for your consent or opinion for Sania to be playing at this level.
And get one more thing clear - She is ranked 29 now. Even with this ranking, US will embrace her with both hands, with a citizenship. It is her own discretion that she prefers to play for a country that you pigheads live.

Moron looks to be sania's shit. She doesn't play in India coz she wants to achieve something for the country, she just plays coz she will get more recognition and money playing here..
Just shitting some "indirect terms" won't make you a patriot.
First go and clean your mouth with phenyle

team sport is easier to deflect blame and hide under. But individual sport is different and hiding/deflecting blame or shyign away from media/scrutiny from pubic is totally 100 times worse.

Yes, 100% she is right. even though we ( our government and public)not done any thing for her ( compare the tax benefit and other type of money mountains given to Cricket players) not to disturb her.

consider moving
by Kittappa on Feb 04, 2008 10:09 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Sania,

India is not a place for talent. There are always people to pull you down. Please move to the US or UK or some country which are really secular and which encourage talent. Please do this to be good to yourself and your career. Indians can not think beyond caste, religion, reservation and violence. India does not deserve any talent because Indians will only try to harm the talent in every possible way rather than fostering it. By the way, US will welcome with you an O category visa ( for outstanding people in any field to pursue that field) and you can eventually get a green card and citizenship merely based on your talent.

From a well wisher who felt the same doing research in INdia and just moved to another better country; i really see a big difference.

Talent !!!I call her 1-2-3 Sania. She has exited from all the major tournaments in the 1st,2nd or third round. That just is her capability. She has been slightly better than the many indian girls who have played tennis or playing tennis, but her media and account managers want to cash in on her good looks and they now very well that she cannot win any major tournaments. She has dropped out because she cannot win agains Venus and Serina Williams.

this is the indian mentality LOL :) this is exactly what i meant by harming talent rather than fostering it. What is your ATP tennis ranking? Do you know how difficult it is to be in the world top 30. Do you know the best ranking Pace/Bhupathi ever achieved in singles? People do not achieve anything but can easily belittle others. You have only proven what i said initially LOL

She has been given more than her due by India.A Padma award for her and not to Pankaj Advani, who won the world champioship. She just does not deserve a Padma Award. She should have something more than round 3 exits to win that award.I wonder whether she is another Anna of India, who never won a grand slam but still managed enough media attention.

There have been better tennis players in the past,Ramanathan Krishnan,Vijay Amritraj,Ramesh Krishnan.Has she acheived half of what these people have acheived ?

Is she better than Kumble, who has taken 600 wickets in test cricket ? Look at the way,the man conducts himself.Mind you,he is also playing cricket since the age of 19 for India.

There have been better players in other sports than her,but they have not been recognized by the government of india(forget these buffoons in the media).

Magniloquent, Kittappa.

Well said.

Indians are not respected in Indistan.

That's why we have this great brain-drain, and we are happy to get the recognition and respect, from the global community, for our great achievements abroad.

Wish you and our tribe well!

I will catch Sania when she is playing in the US and advise her on making the right 'move' to another part of the where d whole wide world welcomes her with wide open arms!

Time Indians become global citizens.

You are right, Indians just have the 'Crab' mentality, they will not let someone succeed if they can prevent it in some way.
People point out that she is not Grand slam material, so what? Does everybody has to be world#1 to get the support of the Indian people.
All these court cases and making news for the wrong reason is due to the jealousy against her. Good job, Sania, move to another country also(you will still represent india, just like Sharpova)

National flag is a very big thing. Why didn't you tell all these things when you just took a picture with Masjid in the background? Scared that some imam will ask for your head?

You are definitely made such a big star by the Indian media just because you play somewhat better tennis than most, not because you are a big champion.
Go to any other big sports country and people won't even recognise you, be assured on that!
People by now know that your best days are behind and these games you are playing, in the media, are just to keep yourself recognised for some more time.

There is nothing wrong in Sania Mirza's decision. If she is targeted in such a way all the time its her right of choice to play in India or not.Idiots present in our society are hell-bent to use her name to get publicity.
