Mr. Sreejith Giving Respect doesnt mean going out and and saying BAD LUCK or better luck next time ..that would be a gesture of arrogance..rather you can be a real icon by applauding ur opponents for getting the best out of you ...there are countless ways... the way to eminence is never that easy ...

RE:YOUTUBE SUCKS
by Joaquim DaSilva on Aug 21, 2008 11:59 AM
Yes because Youtube doesn't have the right to show videos of Usain Bolt winning the Gold. They don't have the right to show anything except videos that have been uploaded by the rightful owners.

we really need to come out cricket and start paying attention to other sports also.
cricket is officially played in less than 20 countries. and games like, athletics, boxing, wrestling, shooting, soccer, hockey etc are played in more than 50 or 100 countries...we really need to come out of cricket mania !!
RE:What is maturity
by innocent on Aug 21, 2008 12:01 PM
you mean like what the sardar did on that malabari, hahahha. you think cricket is a game, common man, it was introduced to take more sun on the body not to play as a game
Bolt and his coach and his country are all fools. This is because their man starts jubiliation even before reaching the finishing line ..?? thereby a drop in time ... what foolishness that you can not wait even a micro second to start celebrating ... South Africa went out of World sup cricket .. when their fielder dropped a crucial catch of australian opponent because of premature celebration antics ... foolishness of the highest order ...they should all learn from Abhinav Bindra .. who did not even celebrate after winning gold
RE:Bolt and his coach and his country
by Dear on Aug 21, 2008 11:58 AM
Come on....Abhinav ddi not celebrated the gold even...he won the gold for the country and his expressions were like he has lost the medal...A person should learn how to maintain a balance
RE:Bolt and his coach and his country
by Padmanabhan Venkataramani on Aug 21, 2008 12:10 PM
who knows - he didnt celebrate because the sports ministry and the support staff were not supporting him (who would have counted him for a medal before starting the beijing)...take for instance people talked of Lee - hesh and not wrestler or a shooter...they talked of rathore and not bindra, talked of sania and not of saina. Because people dont believe in sportmen who all compete for india till they get a medal...he might be frustrated and given a message that guys you all are useless...see i have the medal...now...you all will run now towards me...thats how you all are...all news channels had written me off earlier right? see this one...

This lack of confidence & lack of killer instint shows why Indian have so few medals at Olympic or other world class events. Men, if you have got guts you should show it to the world.
RE:Bolt and his coach and his country
by Abcdarian on Aug 21, 2008 12:00 PM
Whether he celebrated or not before the finish line, he still broke the record by a huge margin. Now , sponsors all over the world will pay him millions if he breaks his own record in future. That way by slowing down he has endured he gets more money . This is what people like Sergie Bubka and now Isinbayeva are doing . Isinbayayeva has broken her own world record about 20 times .There is money in breaking a record because people will come to view such events and it gives organisers more returns. Not foolish in the least. Rather very intelligent. Now Bolt has the world watching eagerly to braek his own record.

Celebration before winning is ofcours foolishness but not celebrating after winning is surely foolishness. Abhinav was so calm which can not justify. What's the use of winning?????
USA basket ball yesterday murdered aussies..we did not see any hand shakes from americans...American defeated aussie hand down still no respect..so why now point fingers at runner..

TAHT I WONT REAVEAL SEE FOR YOURSELF IN 2009
Usain Bolts' world record win in 100m & 200m saw him making some unusal gestures after victory. He even danced barefoot for some time. Its appropriate for a young man from Jamaica, a developing country. Why poeple found mistakes in champions from poor nations?????
When I was an under 15-er, way back in early 70's, I officially clocked 11.6 secs in 100m and 23.6secs in 200m. Had I continued from there without dropping out due to educational committments, I would have been an Olympic champ in 80s. I think this is the fate of most Indian athletes.

Say what you want. What is the proof that what you are saying is sense. Even i can say i used to clock 10 seconds when i was 16.

Really!!! I can't beleive this! Normally education happen to the constraints for few sects in India who are left with no choice but to study hard as money factor is missing in their life and risk of keeping their parents tensed with entering in the adventerous life of sports or any such line.
RE:support

For your kind info, in the early 1980 the World Record for 100 m was 9.94 sec by Calvin Smith of USA. So if you needed to win a medal in those days, you needed at least a sub 10.2 or 10.3 sec timing. So no way you could have been an Olympic champ, at least in the men's race. Maybe womenn's , yes you could have given it a try. One sec in a 100 m race means at least a distance of 10 meters.
RE:support
by ramabhadranS on Aug 21, 2008 06:04 PM
This is the problem with us indians. We try to run down people of some talent. If a person could run at 11.6 secs when he is under 15, proper coaching and training would have made him to get a medal. For ex: Sri Lanka's Susanthika was from a villge and her house was a thatched one. her mother was selling small eatables at a school compound to earn a living. Somebody noted her talent in a rural sports meet and recommended her. Now with proper training and coaching, she has won several medals.Kindly do not run down your countrymen. Encourage them.
