ooh cmon...next u will say...akhil is the new chairperson of akhil bharatiya hindu parishad?
Akhil has really performed well and aroused a lot of interest in Boxing. He is still a champion despite loosing in QF. Wish him success for other tournaments. Now we need to buck up the spirits of the other 2 boxers, Vijendra and Jitendra for Wednesday's match. They are also just 1 win away from winning a medal. Common guys. Punch for the Gold!

well...if there was a dharmendra there was hope....vijayendra (ghatge) can only cry....and jeetendra can only dance in the ring...
and he won the hearts of indians when he beat world champ in the pre-qf match. even today, he fought well, but failed in the result.
although he did well in olympics, v shudnt b complacent enough to say that at least he fought world champ, etc. thats y, indians dont go further, in winning medals. v hv to change this mentality of satisfaction.

Thats the problem with us,we talk too much and are satisfied with whatever we get...need to change this ATTITUDE.
Akhil was the most favourite to win the quarterfinal. But he, in the guise of being over aggressive, made no defence at all and allowed Gojan to hit him at will.
although akhil was very agressive, he did nt defend at all in this match. as per the flaws pointed by his former coach. it was, like in ckt, he was going to hit all the balls for sixers without playing any defencive strokes. also his opponent was very much on defencive. so whenever akhil attack was off the target, his opponent gave him just one punch on the right areas.
I was going through Akhil's interview in a newspaper this morning and was convinced that that this guy a more than enough dose of over-confidence. Sadly, it's only proved by his loss and clearly points out why he is a 4th Grade employee in the Indian Railways. That's because he doesn't have anything between his eyes and ears.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!! and our great DD sports and news hyped him up so much after that including a small clipping with the background song I am the king, I'm No.1, for heaven's sake, was that more important than training and staying in focus. Even when akhil came out of the dressing room he seemed out of focus with a big smile on his face, and finally boxed, far under par. OVERCONFIDENCE, AND THE HYPE GOT TO HIM and he DROPPED HIS GUARD WHEN IT MATTERED MOST. When will we ever learn !! and by the way don't confuse the issues of where he works and his grade, that is a cheap shot!!

Even reaching a quarter final was a great result which so many of experienced olympians of India failed to do....

Shut Up....it was not his day. Whatever he said was self belief and it was the day when his tactics didn't click! that all! It is just a loss nothing else. Well done Akhil to come this far. He is just 27 and he still have comonwealth games, Asian Games and another olyimpic after 4 years. He must have got some lessons after this defeat and I'm confident that he will do very well in upcoming championships!!

Sri sri sri Shobhan sir.. We all people out here who have too much substance between our eyes and ears just sit before comp and give lecture to others!! Dearest sir..Akhil atleast reached quarter finals while so many other participants having'learned and high paid' job returned home failing at qualifying stages. Please stop giving lectures and judging people..If you are capable of doing something good then just do it..otherwise just shut your mouth. Vijay

Well he may be a 4th grade employee in the railways, but he still is head and shoulders above you Mr. Chakraborty. People like you can only post comments while sitting in their office. I am sure that if you caught a punch to ur face you would have shitted in your pants. Akhil is a Mard, something i can't say for you.
