1. Why has rediff removed this from main page? This news deserves to be there atleast for a day! This is absolutely not a done thing REDIFF!
2. Chak de song is a very inspiring number by the singer but it was also sung at Lords. what happened? Its SRK who is now benefitting from this great performance by our hockey team and not the other way round. Dont give any credit to him which is not due. This is the result of the coach and hard working boys. Dont worship stars for everything. This trend is in similarity with people supporting Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
3. I am following hockey for 30 yrs now and let me tell you why this performance is the best, A. This is the fittest ever team B. For the first time I have seen them play so consistently match after match after match. C. For the first time our team put all the rivals under pressure instead of we coming under it as was the usual story. D. There was complete team work, no selfish play, full marks to J CARVALHO!
4. Football is the most popular game in UK, Spain, France, etc. Do they win world cup everytime? No. Do they win Euro cup everytime? No. This win is like winning the Euro cup. Lets all enjoy rather then crib!!!
5. Long live our national sport! I seriously wish if some big corporate house now comes forward for sponsorship!

I completely agree with you Kapil. This time it was a consistent performance by team India throughout the tournament and they won all matches comfortably. Also, Shahrukh certainly was not responsible for this change, but we should still give him credit for bringing forward a movie on game like hockey which was always looking for attention.

my comment was for those fools who think india won bcoz of that movie... the people who r giving credit of our hard-working team to others... u can read their comments in 3-4 posts before with "KPS Gill Vs King Khan" heading.
chak-de india is an awesome movie.. and inspirative movie to the non-sporting nation.. to understand our national sport... but it have nothing to do this with victory.
rediff shud arrange live chat of our real team as they did for reel life players of the movie...

Congrats India for winning Asia Cup.Its a top-notch performance by India. Even though we have won the cup we should not go overboard. We are yet to be tested against the likes of Australia, Germany and Holland.I sincerly believe these teams can be beaten only when we display good team work and better coordination. Lets hope the team will display all these skills and take India back where it belonged earlier.

even SRK gave credit to the team rather than their movie.But what the movie has done is make hocky glamorous for we ,the viewers.Indian team is doing well since last several months ,mailnly after Chavelo as coach but we the audience overlooked it.BUt the movie becoming a big hit we have certainly become more aware of it.

but like this time, media never give proper coverage to such achievements... thats why u people r not aware of the route to victory of our team...
our team did a lot of hard work for the nation inspite of lack of scope, money and media support...
we have no right to appreciate others for their hard-work.
obviously, chak-de is a good movie and an eye-opener for sleeping in sports nation. but it have nothing to do with this victory.

Keep up this good performance. Hope Indian Hockey Players could get similar earning like cricket players.....seems hockey players are really working hard and showing good results too.
i really want to congratulate the indian team. they made all da indians proud. But now its to see whts the hockey federation is going to do wid the players. Both times we won the asin cup and the asin gmes gold the coach and the key players. and wht hell the presentation ceremony was. that fool was not able to stand on his own feet and the comentry was in tamil which nobody was able to understand. wht was that sarda Gill doing there. He has no right to stand wid the team.

KPS Gill should not only be scolded but should be stoned, for destroying Indian Hockey for so long. He should be ashamed of his actions and should be removed from IHF.
