What suprises me is the favorites of the world cup (Brazil , England , France..) arent able to deliver their potential against poor team..Its not the matter of victory that counts, these team should have won the matches with good margins...My hopes on the favorites are dying...I see Portugal and Argentina as hot cakes to win the world cup..

England can win the World cup. But to do so they need to raise their game to another level. They have the players to do that but looking at the last two games gives you the impression that a bunch of school boys can give them a run for their money. Beckham isn't running on the right wing. He needs to do so more often. At present, he just tries to feed Crouch. Clearly Owen and Rooney are not match-fit. The strikers are waiting for the ball in the six yard box. They need to take possession of the ball in midfield and make dashing runs into the box. Defend will not take you far, they need to attack and have the manpower to do so. Gerrard is the only star midfielder who can do both attack and midfield. The rest of the guys must take responsibility in defence and free Gerrard to move forward. The Liverpool captain is devastating in attack.

Hi ,

England can win world cup but for me problem lies in their forward lines. Owens and Crouch are missing chances. May be Rooney's return can boost their chances.
If Englan wants to win the world cup their strikers should fire.

If Rooney plays for the atleast half time of the game(preferably second half)England is having quite fair chance of making it to final.Because he is STAR and very good corner and forward specialist along with the TALLEST( 6.7 feet) footballer.

England winning the world cup? Can anyone who saw them playing seriously even ask that question? They will run into either Germany or Ecuador in the next round, and they are clearly several notches below both these teams. I don't believe England has it in them to even make it to the quarterfinals, forget about the finals!
