Is the adulation necessary???
by Balasa on Mar 02, 2005 11:11 PM

It is great to note that Sania Mirza defeated the US grandslam winner. She has been really doing good for the past 2 years since she won the Australian open jr title.

But when I come across the news about this in Indian media, I can quiet often sense the exaggerated and highly speculated adulation about the athlets. Be it Sachin Tendulkar in cricket, Narain Karthikeyan in Formula one or This girl from Hyderabad in Tennis, who very recently made it clear to media to not hype too much about her.

A kind of support is necessary for any individual athlets who hail from the developing country like India, but this sort of adulation and hype may make the normal readers to deem them of extra-ordinary and soon when the very player fails to deliver, we find the same media hitting out against them. will the media ever change??????
