barring the expected flush of nerves in the opening set, it seems the indian did more than enough to prove that she could hold her own at the highest level of women's pro tennis. however, a couple of thigs came through,especialy in the second set: sania needs to work on her fitness and improve her first serve percentage. her second serve needs greater penetration. but all in all, it was a day for all of her admirers to be proud of what she did. we have seen worse scorelines than the first set in this match and yet lived on to see the loser going on to beat the opponent at some stage of his or her career. india seems set for exciting days in the sport. well done,sania. harcharan bains
