My religion ?

You have assumed I am a non hyndu ?

Because I criticized the BJP ?

I guess you are a north Indian. North Indians are usually studxpid enough to arrive at such quick conclusions !

My name is Ramesh Unnithaan. I have a hyndu name (though I have never practiced nor will ever practice religion).

But I have visited the Sannidhanam 4 times (during the course of my official work). And I know how well the TDB manages the affairs of the Sabarimala temple (unlike family run temples which are almost invariably looted).

Not every person who appears to your peaxbrain to be criticizing hyndu religious affairs or practices is a chrittin or a muxlim. (otherwise, if all those with hyndu names had thought like you do, the BJP would have got 80 % votes in the LS election and 54 % votes in Kerala) !

You make your peaxbrain consider why the BJP got only 36 % votes in the LS election and only 10.4 % votes in Kerala !

The Sabarimala agitation and the criminal intimidation of women Ayappa devotees (abuse in very vulgar language, lifting mundu and displaying genitalia and physical intimidation) is done by criminals dressed up as Ayappa devotees and organised and paid by the BJP !

And it is doing so only because it is desperate to increase its vote share from a measly 10.4 % to at least around 20 % so that it can win a few LS seats in the coming election !

So, you dunce North Indian, you worry about your shxt hole North India (the most backward region in the entire world).

No need to practice it ?

No need to visit temples ?

No need to worship at all ?

And....no need to bray out hyndu....muxlim....chrittin..... in a desperate effort to divert the attention of common people from the massive governance failures of the Narendra Modi govt and also from its massive acts of corruption ?

Then....I am indeed a hyndu in your valuable opinion too !

Correct. Its all about 2019 election. First NRC card in N East, Then Sabarimala in Kerala, then Netaji card in W Bengal. They want to make up the shortfall of seats in MP, RJ,UP, Bihar, Gj in Kerala, N East and WB. More issues will come.

What are you talking about, you peaxbrain ?

Are you saying that a muxlim (Religion of Peace ?) filed the petition in SC to allow women of all ages to visit the Sabarimala temple ?

What is your source, you North Indian ?

RSS hand bills, the usual source of information and news for you dunces ?

Now, listen. That petition was filed by a few women in 2006. And these women have been established to be the wives of some RSS functionaries !

And the RSS has admitted it !

Not only that, before the BJP convinced itself that the Sabarimala verdict can be turned into a vote catching election campaign material in 2019, the RSS made the grave mistake of welcoming the SC verdict of September 28th !!

The RSS man - Bhayyaji Joshi, in a detailed statement, welcomed the verdict and described it as a revolutionary verdict that would reform the hyndu religion !

Not only that, Janmabhumi, a parivar publication, ran a full page editorial hailing the SC verdict as *historic* !!!

*Historic* !

Whatever happened after that (within a period of just 1 week) ???

After seeing a protest by one section of Ayappa devotees, the BJP state leaders in Kerala smelt an opportunity !!

And opportunity !!!!

What opportunity ??

The BJP is in such poor shape in kerala now (compounded by the act of the stuxpidest of Indian Prime Ministers - komaaaaali Narendra Modi - to prevent aid for Kerala in the aftermath of the floods) that the state leaders were looking around in desperation for a diversionary reason!

And when such cultural expressions of stuxpid RSS coolies include killing of opponents, they face the same expressions in return in Kerala !

a Malayalam TV channel, a man well versed in the scriptures, temple customs, history, the constitution and law easily outgunned and reduced to incoherent blabbering, two politicians - one from the BJP and the other from the Congress party !

To every question by the moderator on the reasoning and sustainability of a review petition before the SC to overturn the latters verdict on Sabarimala dated 28th September, the BJP man (Advocate Narayanan Nampothiri) and the Congress man (Mr Rajmohan Unnithaan) sounded like echoes of each other !

Advocate Harish Vasudevan, noted lawyer, historian, scholar and environmental activist, in a clear, to the point and concise talk, explained why the SC verdict to allow women between 10 and 50 years wanting to worship at Sabarimala to do so is yet another episode in the long history of reform and renaissance in the religious and social sectors in Kerala.

This renaissance, noted Vasudevan, began about a century ago with the lives and work of Sri Narayana Guru, Chattambi Swamikal and Ayyankali. All three boldly challenged and succeeded in overpowering and effacing entrenched practices and customs in Kerala that were regressive and highly discriminatory. These regressive age old customs and traditions had made Swami Vivekananda (who visited Kerala during the turn of the 20th century) famously describe Kerala as a lunatic asylum ! The 3 reformers faced severe resistance from vested interests who did whatever they could to stop them

Later, VT Bhattathiripad, yet another reformer, put an end to the shameful custom of Kerala women coming out into public areas without covering their breaxsts !

This custom - encouraged and sustained by the monarchical and feudalistic society of Kerala before independence - was so deep rooted that it was even considered a sacrilege for women to visit temples or stand before the so called Rajas with their breaxsts covered !

Bhattathiripad argued vehemently how this evil custom had no basis in any of the scriptures or Shastras or tantric texts and was simply imposed on women by society over the ages to keep them subjugated and without any role in society outside their homes.

Bhattathripad was severely castigated and even ostracised by the high and mighty of those days - the so called Rajas, nobles, big landlords (janmis) and by his own Braxhmin community. But he stuck to his conviction and bravely took it to its logical conclusion by calling upon all women to publicly shun the custom by coming out into the open with their breaxsts fully covered !

And what was the response ?

Just a handful of women (who were then shamed as unwomanly and not #kuleenam# by regressive forces) responded to Bhattathiripads call while the great majority of women - prominently those of his own community, the Nampoothiri women - chose to stick to their age old custom and even castigated the women who chose to cover their breaxsts !

And when some lady students of Womens college, Trivandrum

chose to worship at a temxple with their breaxsts covered, they were chased, harassed, abused and even physically intimidated by.........other women who chose to take up the role of protectors of customs and traditions !

After Mr Harish Vasudevan described these facts, the BJP and Congress spokespersons were reduced to such noisy blabbering about #hyndutva#, #sentiments# of Ayappa devotees, etc that the moderator began picking holes in their arguments with ease.

And the BJP and Congress men responded on expected lines - loud and shrill posturings on protecting the religious sentiments of people and choosing to clumsily sidestep every one of Harish Vasudevans points about social and religious reforms !!

You worry about your religion and do not poke into something that you are not part of.........nobody interferes into your pracctices...........if one starts to question like "why waste so many candles in front of a statue, instead these could light so many poor houses !!! Then one would say it is none of your business and it is a personal and devotional aspect and no one has a right to say anything about one's beliefs. So is this a matter of belief for Hndus and stay away from it.
