What love and concern for the security of the country without preparing the country to meet invasion ,attack etc and that too by renowned student of History. A question in UPSC examination sometimes in 1964 read "The History of India is the history of invasions on India-discuss"We always had had defeats. He made history repeat itself.True ,his mixed economy was better than the present Loot the Economy. As a recent report revealed his economic policies reduced inequality in India bringing the wealth acquisition of the wealthy rich top 10% from 21% to 6% in 1980s.Our past 30yrs of Market& Privatize LOOT the Nation Economy has taken it back to 1930s in inequality with the rich having23% of National wealth. To meet any threat one has to become strong. His perception and the result out of in defending the nation show him as a failure.R.Ponnambalam
Man who simply had no interest in his job. His main motive to life hs always been wine and women. China/ Pakistan/ Kashmir/ appeasement like problem were seeded by him.
1. Nehru did not bolster our army to counter so called surprise attack by China... 2. Why did he bolster his daughter on the nation and hence the dynasty that too by stealing the name "Gandhi"? 3. Why did Rahul meet Chinese clandestinely during the Doklam faceoff few weeks back..?

The first query is certainly valid. Regarding Indira, she became PM long after Nehru died, so it is illogical to blame him for her elevation. She had her own stature independent of Nehru.
While I am not an expert but Nehru's dislike for the Chinese appears to be a later development because going by his books he seems to be greatly influenced and appreciative of Chinese people and their civilization.

Okay, assuming that this author is right, how did Nehru press UN to include China as a Permanent Member of the Security Council?
