One Sixth of World Population and do not have a permanent seat with veto, UN is a false organisation created 60 plus years back without modern reality. A complete restructuring it is the only solution. Any preaching in a wrong place is a wrong speech if not a waste speech.

UN must respect India and its 1 Billion plus population...

Just look how profound he can get! He actually went a few steps further than any climate change scientist has ever done by way of prescribing remedies to counter climate change. He prescribed YOGA and its practice as the ideal way to address climate change !!!!!!! This profound statement by Modi must have left the large and fast growing community of climate scientists scratching their heads in extreme self-disparagement at their own sheer inability to have come upon so simple and yet so powerful a remedy as the practice of YOGA to counter climate change, GHG emission controls be damned to the extreme !!

Above verse from piri.

Extremely hillaruous man.

It is good that you run away when good people enter the forum.
I completely agree with you that you should refrain from passing on your Aids to others.

Narendra Modi,
by piri on Sep 28, 2014 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

the climate change advocate turned sceptic, has become an advocate once again !!

He started off his venture in the subject of climate change by warning everyone around that climate change is for real and that it would be in the best interest of everyone to heed the warnings and take remedial action.

Then, suddenly somewhere on the way to building his image as a development and growth enthusiast, he turned a severe climate change sceptic.

He nudged the Gujarat State Pollution Control Board to endorse businesses that mildly or moderately polluted the air, water and the soil and to look the other way when big businesses somewhat more than moderately polluted the surroundings.

He got the former UPA govt.'s MOEF to clear the environmentally devastating Narmada dam to be raised in height and oversaw the ravage of the huge submergence area resulting from the increase in the height of the dam. In addition, he let matters at the Gujarat State Pollution Control Board (which, just like other pollution control boards in the country, was vested with the authority and mandate to control and regulate green house gases emission) drift in order to help his pet constituency - the rapacious manufacturers' lobby that wanted no unnecessary expenditures such as those that were needed to put up effective waste or effluent treatment plants to be imposed on them.

He went on at this for so many years that the state of Gujarat acquired the exalted position

OK. I will sum it up if you are interested.

Modi must have stunned climate change scientists by suggesting that the best defence against climate change is for everyone to practise Yoga - GHG emissions and their control be damned !

@Rahul agreed he is great orator but is that the criteria to send message in UN?..he should have asked for permanent seat, spoken against policy that is creating rift across continents and communities, spoken on who supplies weapons to terrorists? spoken on strategy on spending much more on providinf 100% literacy and food to worlds poor
