The Kanyakumari District of today was a part of the erstwhile Travancore Kingdom. Even today, the Padmanabha puram Palace is under the control of the Keralites. Making this district a part of Tamil Nadu during the reorganisation of states confounds everyone, but the people stil have high regard for the Kerala Royal Family.
