Only National Parties can form a govt in Centre, that means either BJP or Congress. Your regional party CPM (only survived in Kerala and WB) even cant dream about forming a govt at the Centre. What you have mentioned is absolutely correct. What is needed is that the lawmakers should come out with two things.
a) Disrespect towards any religion by an individual or an organisation is a crime and punishable offense.
b) The law of the land should be applied without any bias so that people start respecting and following the law and should be punished if they take law in their hand. If any casulty takes place due to police firing or for any other reason the leader should be tried for murder and sent to jail.
If a few politicians or street leaders are sent to gallows these sort of protest will reduce drastically.
Taslima ia beacon to our wretched society. She has risked so much of her life for the sake of humanity. There must be opportunities to criticize one's own religion, then only there will be new thinking and new developments. India should protect her and should in fact provide shelter to such thinkers. Hussain is unfortunately drawn into this. It was actually an arthouse owner in Chennai who gave the title to the controversial painting. We have a whole temple at Kajuraho dedicated to sex and promiscuity, and whatever you call it. Why pick on a good human being and one who loves this country. Religious fanaticism is going too far and must be curbed.

I find that some Hindu brothers have been led to believe that by hating muslims or non Hindus you will become a better Hindu. Read your religious scriptures or listen to the discourses on TV. Hindu religion does not subscribe hate and killings. Those indulging in such acts are committing crime against humanity and Parmeshwar will not spare you from being punished.
Listen to the voice of your religion and religious guru and saints and you will be a good person.
If you will listen to the version of Hindu religion doctored by politicians or religious leaders having political ambitions you will fall in the trap and will become a misguided Hindu or muslim.
Be a good Hindu, a good muslim and good humanbeing and become a torch bearer of peace and not hatred.
