Used to it !!
by S. N. Holidays,Bangalore on Jul 26, 2007 09:17 AM

As a Goan, you tend to get used to this game of musical chairs being played by our local clowns or politicians as they are known to be. This is just another attempt by these clowns to save their skins becuse they had recieved crores of rupees for land conversions from outstation builders done during the previous regime. The Digambar Kamat Government had cancelled all these contracts and hence led to its downfall. These things kep happening, our country is known for it. Its not a question of a lady not being given a ministerial berth or any such crap. Its how much you can earn when the sun shines ! As for as common people, we just get to sit back and enjoy the fun these bunch of clowns play.

by rachita bholowalia on Jul 26, 2007 09:09 AM  | Hide replies

yes countrymen---it is not a win for for any political party or individual BUT a REWARD to this criminal gang of UPA by a WOMAN MLA on the occasion of a fraud PREZ who is yet to get clearance from fraud cases and criminal family background.this gang of UPA thought that they carry a LICENCE to impose any PRESIDENT OF INDIA since as per them NDA candidate was an employee in BRITISH POLICE.this dirty politics has changed their character---in early 60s or upto beginning of 70s---opposion or ruling had a common sentence---WE WOULD GIVE U THE BEST AND ENSURE THE BAD PAST IS NOT REPEATED AT ALL and now they say---WHAT IS WRONG IF WE R DOING BAD SINCE IT IS LESS THAN THE EARLIER--this means the present crimes shold not be taken into account since the earlier was bad in different fields---A NONSENSE IRRESPONSIBLE behaviour.frankly OUR COUNTRY IS IN BAD SHAPE SINCE WE HAVE BEEN DEPRIVED OF THE BEST OPPOSITION IN PARLIAMENT/LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLIES as we do not know which MLA/MLC/MP would change its character.ABOVE ALL WE HAVE MINISTERS ON BAIL AND MINTING CRORES--save INDIA by LALIT

Woman president! As if he faught a war or shown some exemplary quality. Any Tom and Harry can become Prez this way. But see the media and Congress. They are crying as if they have India to reach MOON.

She might have become Prez but question still remains. Fraud, helping family members and many more. These all require answer.

Media also, instead of taking side, shud make Pratibha to answer. It is no disrespect if some clarrifications are sought.

Before pitying BJP and its supporters, shouldn't you recall that it's the same state where Congress threw the Parrikar govt in almost the same manner - by bribing four MLAs to resign and throwing the government even without giving it a chance on the floor of the house.
Congress, and its supporters too, forget easily before crying foul that it's a game that two can play.

Goa shows the way
by Nelson on Jul 26, 2007 07:51 AM  | Hide replies

It is just another case that politicians think of their own honour and not of the service to the nation. Victoria should have been given a place in the ministry but that does not justify resignation which forces a bye election which costs the public exchequer crores of Rupees. And Mr. Alemao Goem tumchem bhens nhoi.

Force debate to system change .
by QandA on Jul 26, 2007 07:00 AM

People don't have power positions have. System change is permanant fix. E.g. Police Commissioner should be elected by people for 2 years and cannot be appointed by politicians. Corruption will reduce.. Another one is a person can be a Chief minister only two times. That solves the Sharad Pawar or 50 yr same chef minister problem in Bengal. Prime Minister will be elected by the people and not appointed by politician.

No point in blaming politicians... Focus debate to change the system.... If you don't have time then contribute MONEY to organizations who have it. Thats the 21'st century SAMAJ SEVA BY SITTING AT HOME. That's what people DO IN US.

The presidential elections got all the attention for a month now, and just as the new President get sworn in, we have this exiting news from Goa.

Political Parties will form new alliances and coalitions, dissidents will either be punished or rewarded, TV/press reporters will be hustiling for coverage, a new drama will unfold everyday and then a new CM will be elected.

Who's next?
