The man who has criticised his own mother that she should have not lived for these many days is been celebrated as a big personality in Tamil Nadu. I am really surprised that the one who criticised his own mother who is more than a God cannot be a human being who fought for the upliftment of dowtrodden people but a devil in human form.

Naikar married a child when he was more than 60. If that is true, hardly this pervert would stand for equality.
wat ever periyar had thought of, one can see the result as of today..there is no social equality and the present day FCs, especially brahmins, are now the minorities..may be some one like periyar from the brahminical community has to initiate a movement in a similar way as periyar did...we will never reform..
Brahmins did not invent castes. It was brought in by incoming people belonging to different cultures and nations into India . In India they were not forced or encouraged forcefully to lose their identity and culture unlike in the present day US or UK. Hence they continued with their culture i.e castes.
For example if you take TN alone and look jus the number of backward castes ( not sc , st or mbc ), we have 140 odd castes

There are castes called as karpura chettiar , kasukkara chettiar etc . They mean camphor chettiar and cash chettiar-- chettiar is equivalent to seth in the north .
Now where in the hindu scriptures are such castes mentioned?
Nowhere. Clearly caste is not an invention of the Brahmins. The Brahmins only tired to integrate such people belonging to different culture groups called caste . They integrated them into Indian society.

i totally agree kums...brahmins are not the culprits for today's social divide..but its always the crooked minded ppl like the politicians hoo create this divide..in those days, it was the british and now, its the congress, laloo, mulayams, comies etc..
Periyar and all the other leaders of India were idiots. They were clueless as to what needs to be done to bring about Social justice. Indian Philosophy is "Hate the richest guy in town". Social Justice in India means rob the rich guy but do not seek to improve the lifestyle of the poor /downtrodden. As long as this philosophy works, India will certainly become a huge power to reckon with. (In Dreams)...

People who are not ready to accept Periyar as a Social reformer or leader and question what social reform he has brought to Tamil Nadu can please post why is that all the Sankaracharis or Saibabas are given undue importance and treated like Gods despite their alleged criminal activities. Can any one tell what social reforms they did? The reason is clear. Sankaracharis are Brahmins and Periyar is not.

Sai Baba (neither the current one, nor the previous one)is not a brahmin, so your theory is unscientific....I agree with your idea that any one who is a criminal should be shunned, provided that it is proven in a court of law

though periyar is a pervert because of the failures in his family life, he had strong conviction. he cut three hundred odd good yielding cocunut trees to follow prohibition as stated by mahatma gandhi. using his name and his assets worth of crores, the people in the movement and their families are enjoying now,by creating a trust. it is hard to digest, in the colleges run in the name of periyar, the appointments are given to only particular community even today. this is a shame. it is stated in the article about the number of posts occupied by Brahmins earlier. there is a contrast truth. god fearing brahmins sticking to rules never enjoyed the government tax payer money and looted. but when all the other people occupied the seats, they started looting and without payment of bribe, there is no other channel available to move files in govt. offices. is it not true.
This is absolutely true and we can see a lot of people other than one caste has come up either in power or position caz of Periyar not the the proclaimed people who says Periyar is against God, releigion.
He was aginst Brahminisim and fight for the equality for all religion. But those days only one caste ruled majority even thought they are 3% and ruled 97% of people.
Still it is clear from the messages that many people want to suppress other caste(eventhough they are poor, suppressed).
It is pity that eventhough educated people from one caste try to the same when Periyar was fought for the equality.
God only save those pepole from the evil cratures based on caste
we want atleast 1000 periyars to people(who are still suppressed because of caste, poverty, as we all know)
