Periyar found blouse price increasing when because cerain people started using it. Thats great equality of perverts.
They allied with the rulers of that day to target the population.

Mr. Narayanan yoiu revealing your immaturity through ur comments, u r trying not to understand the better of periyar.
WHAT A WONDERFUL REFORMIST! HE STOOD AGAINST CASTE, RELIGION AND ALL SORT OF SUPERSTITIONS. YOU AND I WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NO GOD ONLY IF WE HAVE COURAGE TO THINK ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF GOD. THAT COURAGE PERIYAR HAD AND REFORMED MANY. HE WORKED FOR SOCIAL EQUALITIES SO OBVIOUSLY HAD TO WORK AGAINST BRAHMINS WHO ARE PROBAGATORS OF ALL SORTS SUPERSTITIOUS EVILS EVEN NOW. WE APPRECIATE HIS PRACTICAL APPROACH FOR HUMAN GOODNESS.

Periyar didn;t stand against superstition of european racial analysis, because that gave him power. The tamil nationalism and violence linked with race has contribution from this non-tamilian.
Brahmans are the most oppurtunistic population in this planet. Previously they exploited lower caste people (lower caste females were not allowed to wear blouse, Males were not allowed to sit with them and many more; read ambedkar's history). If they were educated and if they are educated is not to develop nation or society it is because they want to develop themselve and agony is that they are liar and portray that they are the one who think about the nation first. Biggest suckers......

i know the agony he went through, i know his passion for the India, I know his concern for the poors. One need not to know the hindi literature and for a human being it is useless to learn the mahabharat aur Ramkatha if he can't imbibe anything.

Sunil Kumar is neo-intellectual, he has easy target after being informed of people of central asia, and racial migration.
Its highly ridiculous to say that periyar is against caste system. He himself could not renounce caste even from his name. Surprisingly, most of the atrocities against the dalits are committed by his own caste men. But, he has forgotten that well and stood against brahmins.. because he could not compete with their intelligence, he has used force to drive them. He has proved that he is a coward in choosing only brahmins.. why not he fight against his own caste men for the untouchability & suppression they practised against the dalits?
he is the most selfish person, who has used caste politics worst than any other one...
because of social justice in India, Brahmins started think global opportunities. If no pariyar, Brahmin may not think about going other part of world. Brahmins learned to go anywhere where opportunities. Social justice is applicable only to india not other part of world.
Even though i dont like his views against Hinduism. He was a true genious in opposing Hindi imposotion in Tamil Nadu.
Otherwise it would have created Hindi Chauvunism. Already it is there in many places. People from Hindi heartland assume that Hindi is the only language, so everone should speak in Hindi only.
Even a typical educated Northis give priority to Hindi not English.
Hindi already killed Marathi,Assame, kannada culture. In the years to come the surving language in India will be Hindi and other languages which is againt Hindi.
SO English should be our national language and we should give priority to Reginal Languages.

Periyar used the cheap theories to create political tamil nationalism, this was to create hurdles against the Indian Independence.
Collectively these people destroy the vernacular languages.
This article itself says that Periyar was born in an affluent family and that he was living in a major town. He could certainly have acquired a university degree or have become a lawyer or an engineer if he had chosen to. If he or his father had decided that he need not study beyond Std. 4, why blame Brahmins with much poorer economic status who valued education and rose up to occupy such careers? KS Ramakrishnan
Without any doubt or contest, Periyar was a great social reformer and an original thinker. But, it might as well turn out that the solutions that he thougt out for the maladies in the society were not good enough. That is why we have a greater problem on hand, today.
It is good statistics that Brahmins consisted of hardly 3% of the population and were holding almost all the government posts. Look at this data, in a slightly different perspective.
Brahmins are basically people whose profession is "Teaching". It might be a wrong correlation that has made us think of Brahmins as the custodians of the sastras, sacred texts etc or as priests. Functionally, this happened to be so. But, in principle, they were to be the teachers of the society.
By the nature of their profession, it was inevitable that they had an inclination to reading and writing skills.
The British were basically looking for people who would be able to acquire reading and writing skills in English, so that they may be used as clerks of the Majesty's governmnet. This is something like what is being done today in the name of 'Outsourcing' or the role of the BPO industry in modern times. The weaker segments of the Brahmin community, who might have faced difficulties in eeking out a reasonable living through their profession, might have volunteered to learn English.
I suppose there would be no contest to the fact that the government officers, Doctors and Engineers were people with writing and reading skills in English, so that they could communicate with the British rulers ( or the government of the day).
The idea of Brahminism or Brahmins being the root cause of the maladies in our society might be grossly misplaced. That is why we are tending to have a greater problem on hand, with an ever increasing demand for reservations and divisions of the society whereas the original objective of the reformist Periyar was to establish "Social Equality".
Readers and the film maker can draw their own conclusion on the success of the reformist movement. It is a dream of every Indian that everyone of us should have the means for a decent livelihood. Can poverty be banished with a magic wand?

for that we need good statesmen like politicians and also we need to take tackle the great population surge. That is not going to happen anytime soon in India. India will always be under-developed and politicians will think of more frivolous issues to get the populace worked up upon. The problem is immense, it is almost unachievable.

Periyar copied the racial analysis as it was in europe at that time. It was to throw mud to gain power. This oppurtinist was not an 'original thinker' of racial theories. His originality is in finding ruthless political oppurtinities.
