First there was no reservations in the past as you like to think.
1. No one can stop others from studying for your information. You can stop them from working, stop them from eating or even from drinking water but you can never stop others from learning. With all your reservations you can only stop Brahmins from progressing further but you can never make them illitrate and they would not give this as an excuse and remain illitrate 2. If every Brahmin were to follow the rules strictly they need to beg for food and must not accumulate wealth. 3. Every Brahmin must have Cow and they must get all diary products ONLY from that Cow. 4. Brahmins in general has nothing to do with temples. It was due to barbaric medivial Abrahamic invasions, others gave this responsibility to Brahmins. 5. Most of the well-to-do are NOT from Brahmins instead from Banya castes. Brahmins are still poor and live hand-to-mouth. 6. Dont confuse yourself with some urban elite wearing Cross-threads with Brahmins. They are Vaisyas not Brahmins. FYI, anyone can wear Sacred Thread for that you need to follow certain regulations.

Again you got it wrong dude.. I know all urban elite are not bramins.. The point is since education was not allowed to a major section of the country - it is nothing but social justice to give some reservations to uplift them..
It just like if a elderly couple have two kids - one is uber-rich and the other was just able to meet his ends meet, his parents will help him, even with their pension money.. That is wat was provided by the constitution and should be there till the inequality is erased.. got it?? there can be an additional clause like if anyone from your father's/grandfather's generation has been benifitted from reservation (education/job) you will not be eligible..

You still did not get it. Brahmins may be probagating vedic texts within their communities, this is just "may be". Even this vedic texts was written by SC/ST Vyasar.
The language tamil was in its full swing and every tom, dick and harry knew how to read, write and speak Tamil language during ancient and medivial periods (just before barbaric Abrahaic invasions).
You just cant stop from from reading, learning and getting educated. You may deny oppurtunities in government or private organizations citing millions of reasons but you just cant stop people from learning!

wrong analogy on every count. No one is rich in India except for a few OBCs and a few UC, remaining are mired in poverty so why should government only favour poor OBCs why not poor UCs too. Majority of UCs are poor

great.. some intelligent one had reported my post which does not have any single abuse for abuse.. long live democracy...
We Indians love freebies. Reservation is one such. Becase of caste system Bhramins dominated other caste for centurines.
becasue of reservation rich OBC will rule over their own people for ever and keep on harping that Bhramins are responsible for the pligh of the oppressed.

How do you say that Brahmins dominated. They did not even accept kingships and reamined poor dedicated to education. If they had some jobs in British rule or Muslim rule-it is not because there were reservations for Brahmins. You gus talk bull without any basis to perptuate nonsense.
Some ppl keep slandering brahmins and others can keep reciprocating ! but the fact is we have all been made fools by the politicans. now there are only two castes - politicians and non-politicians. politicians make non-politicians fight among themselves so that they can always be at the top.
Time and again this is coming as a hot topic and now in the form of a movie. Don't know what they are going to show and how it will be viewed by general public. Without creating any ill feeling it is very difficult to picturaise this movie and we hve to keep the fingers crossed as Periyar is not like Kamaraj or Annadurai or Indira Gandhi as they are not that opposition against a single religion which is widely prevailed in South India.
Enough is enough. All the people who support the castesim as well as those who are against a particular caste need to be hanged by the nearest lamp post. demanding the reservation is worse than begging.Up to what extent the people will demand reservation? I think that tomorrow they will go to olympic association and say that gold medals should be reserved for Tamil OBC's. If one considers the case of Periyar , his actions were the result of a total frustration and personal vendetta. He was suffering from inferiority complex as all the OBC's in the country suffer. They do not have beleif in themself. If they argue that all caste is same in the mental level, then why they do not occupy all the seats in IITs by competing with the general cateogry students.
The truth is that in India people wants anything benificial by hooks or crooks. In jobs and education OBC's want. In politics the politicians wants their kith and kins to replace them. In sports sportsmen want their son should be the next captain. And in film industry actors children have the gaurantee to be an actor. The result is that country suffers. That is why we have not been able to win oscars or gold medals.
what we need today is the self made people in the helm of power not the caste supporters or bashers. If India is able to do that, over a period of time talent will replace the caste and then we will be a great nation.
In conclusion. In present scenario people like karunanidhi, periyar, arjun singh or VP Singh should not have existed. God have done a bloomer by creating them . So God save India.

Why do you wear your caste-name as if you earned that title? Just a suggestion, don't take it the wrong way- what is the use of this surname apart from showing off your 'superiority complex'? I am not sure if it behoves our educated community.
Caste is something very private, not to paraded around in the streets. Again, don't take it the wrong way.
