I think it will take Vidya Balan many more movies and a range of more diverse characters before her name can be taken in the same sentence as Meryl Streep.
I fail to understand why so much praise for her. Believe me , I do not consider her actress to be in Bollywood Industry. She is just a normal actor ,if she be in TV serial. Just she got a Filmfare Award in Dirty Picture,that too I doubt on what ground ,whether its role or her useless Bust Line or her fat thighs or ?

If Bollywood sneezes, it makes news. Vidya is no where to even Waheeda or Hema and Sadhana, who are considered Indian stars that reflected Indian cinema. Kahani is a film to be seen for photography and background music, otherwise faults and loopholes are many, script has no beginnning .... ends with mystery? That is all, so why this has been rediff headlines
definitly not is rediff guys going bonkers , India has seen far more talented and brilliant actresses Smita patil,Shabana Azmi,Sridevi,Madhuri etc and so many in the south like Revathi and lots more ...Meryl Streep has been in the movies for almost 30 years and has done a vast range of roles and is a winner of three Oscars ...comparing Meryl streep and Vidya balan is in itself silly and irrelevant...Dirty picture was the life of Silk ...to be frank Vidya looked no way like Silk or acted like her...so lot of flaws in that...she is no Meryl Streep and she never will be...Vidya has chosen the right movies and performed accordingly and that worked thats all...
Ask them to watch "Sophie's Choice" before comparing anyone with Meryl Streep....Meryl Streep has been the undisputed actress in the entire world...Only if Vidya Balan gives performances in atleast 25 more movies...She could be even compared with Meryl Streep.....

Yes i agree. its not that vidya is not talented, she is hygely talented. but she need to do more and best thing is SHE CAN. good thing is that she has potential to begin with which should be explored more and more. Meryl streep was not THE MERYL STREEP at the time of KRAMER vs KRAMER or SOPHIE'S CHOICE. she has earned this title. same has to be with vidya and i know SHE CAN.
