The very fact that a staunch self-professed anti-tamil like you, writing comments on Tamil forums is itself a big gain to Tamil Cinema. Kudos.

This fellow is famous only in tamilnadu and andrapradesh where people are crazy about the masala films. And media tries to make news out of everything. He may be good actor but there is no necessity to create so much hype. at least in 2013 Indians should grow up and think about nation and not getting carried away by films.Keep our nation clean and give respect to humans. don't treat other person as slaves. don't do corruption .

Good Genuine comment. We Indians should not be so obsessed with Cinema or even Cricket and concentrate on improving our hygiene, infrastructure and corrupt free governance.

Hi,
I wonder to hear that he is known only in Tamil Nadu and Andhra. Please do give credit to his popularity worldwide, which even all politicians and cine actors from West also had agreed. He is a big time actor than anybody in India at the moment. Remember his ratings and fan followings are collasol. Please dont fool yourself by posting with the name of truth india.

All the so-called 'masala' films is what is driving Bollywood now, right? Take films like Wanted, Bodyguard, Rowdy Rathore, Tere Naam and all Priyadarshan films. So, not sure what you're trying to say. Get your facts right before looking down upon the South. What Rajni does is give wholesome entertainment to the man on the street, besides providing employment to so many others. So, he's certainly beyond Narayana Murthy and others. But then, why compare? As for media frenzy, go and check out the streets to know him, not the portals.

So the hype given to a Shahrukh or Aamir or Amitabh or Hrithik or Salman is good and justified? Inspite of restricting himself to just South cinema (which obviously has lower audience than Bollywood due to the language), Rajnikanth today is being spoken about by Bollywood audiences too. The country knows him very well now, and Bollywood actors go ga-ga about him. He was even considered for Dhoom-3 according to rumors and all... He is a bigger star than any of the Khans or Amitabh or Hrithik or whoever because he has become this star by just doing South films. You can do a Bollywood film and become big instantly, but doing a South film and being this big is PHENOMENAL. And stop writing nonsense like corruption, etc.
