Malay da, post Independence all the vested interest wrote history and took over the reins of governance. Majority of the freedom fighters who bled the British have been systematically overlooked,downplayed and eventually will be forgotten. Thanks to AG that atleast one will be remembered. A few years back someone had made a TV serial "Kahan gaye woh log" depicting the uprising. i am surprised you even know "masterda".

Dear Bharat, First, thanks for addresing me dada. Well, my parents hails from CTG. I was deeply facinated when I was child after reading Masterda's wounderful short life, Not only master da, there are many. What you have written " systematically overlooked....." I completely agree with you. Let us hope so , some one should come up and atleast start a serial on our beloved mayters. For your information I had directed a dance drama on the life of Surya Sen & CTG uprising at the PUJA Cultural program in Delhi. But I do not understand why you have surprised. I think most Bengali knew that Suriya Sen was passinately called Masterda.
